The only area that I'm stating Mistwell is correct is in regards to the fact that 5.5E will and does use stock 5E monsters as being backwards compatible and there will be "few" issues in regards to pushing out the PHB and DMG out early and wait till later for the MM to be updated.

Oh, I know that it's supposed to be compatible.  I still thing it's a horrendously poor idea do space out the distribution of the new core books. 

Players buy the PHB and GMs tend to buy the GM Guide and MM at the same time.  They need to have about 6-10x the amount of PHB as singles as they need for the other books and they really should sell all three books as a set with only a few singles released for the GM Guide and MM.

Not that hard. The hard part is finding someone who checks all the diversity criterea so they can slap their name on the cover.  Hazards-of-the-bro has gotten such a bad reputation that they can't find any trans-disabled-POC-vegan cook book writers that will willingly associate with them.

The Orcs and Drow are still bad horrible monsters, that should be slain on sight; in all of my early 5E books.  :)  All the way up to the first print run of Tasha's, anyway.  That's when I stopped buying their Monster and Player Option splat books, for 5E.  Tasha's tipped off everyone, to WOTC's true intentions; and it got far worse, after that.  I didn't even glance at the 2nd go round of Mordenkainen's; since I already had the 1st version, and Volo's.  The 2nd Mordenkainen's, was just a trashing of the 1st one plus Volo's.  Eliminating relevant text, and calling it an update.  A sleazy company, for sure.
