This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Money to spend, nothing to buy

Not a lot coming out right now that's grabbing me, I'm not sure if that's because I finally fixed my gamers ADD or because it's pre gencon so stuff's being held back or just because I'm not online much so I'm not getting buzzed by internet chatter, but it's been a really slow year for me spending wise.

What about you lot?  Anything coming out you have your eyes on?  Anything got you excited?

Alternatively, anyone else finding their spending patterns changing?

J Arcane

All my current wants are old games.

I want a set of Alternity corebooks.

I want a Star Wars D6 R&E corebook.

I want the Megatraveller boxed set.

And I want the print version of Fallout/SPECIAL I set up as a private project on Lulu.

Unfortunately I'm broke, so I get none of the above.
Bedroom Wall Press - Games that make you feel like a kid again.

Arcana Rising - An Urban Fantasy Roleplaying Game, powered by Hulks and Horrors.
Hulks and Horrors - A Sci-Fi Roleplaying game of Exploration and Dungeon Adventure
Heaven\'s Shadow - A Roleplaying Game of Faith and Assassination

Ian Absentia

Revised "d100" Basic Roleplaying.
Quest Worlds.

Both game systems that I already own.  Go figure.

Other than hunting for old stuff, the only recent/upcoming releases that have got my attention are Revised Super Deluxe BRP (or whatever they're calling it) and Reign.

Quest Worlds is also worth tracking in my mind but since I already own HQ I don't know if I can quite justify the acquisition, unless maybe someone wanted to trade for some reason.

jdrakeh

The Magic Item Compendium and a Pathfinder subscription. Other than that, I got nothing.

Koltar

I WANT the 25mm Virushi miniature that was done back in the 80s by grenadier.

That would work out great for my campaign.

Interesting, if it wasn't for the fact it would involve me giving money away we could really cancel out our mutual problems...

How about-

Star Wars Saga
Reign
Lesser Shades of Evil
Wild Talents
Delta Green d20
I can dig it.....a little bit.

Easy for you to say, up in your mansion full of hookers and blow, living off the kickbacks you get from package courier services!

Star Wars Saga and the new BRP thing. I might check out True20 and see what the fuss is about for that, too. If I happen across some old school stuff at Gencon, I may pick some of it up.

Well, in theory Cthulhutech comes out this year (finally), I'm definitely interested in that...

Well, we have heard interesting things about Principia Malefex, which apparently is published in Balbinus' neck of the woods, so he should buy it and tell us all about it ;)

We were told of it
QuotePrincipia Malefex include extensive rules for psychological trauma and internal struggle based on doing or seeing unpleasant things -- including engaging in socially taboo acts, such as murder or rape (the latter subject has nearly two pages of topical and thoughtful discussion dedicated to it). It also contains an actual system for psychoanalysis, as well as rules for roleplaying a clinical Psychopath or Sociopath (though these are intended primarily for the GM). Such characters, naturally, can kill without guilt (and, thus, don't have to make a roll to take somebody's life). PM isn't your typical game system at all, really.
Now that doesn't sound like a terribly happy and fun game, but it certainly sounds interesting, and worth having a look at...

I gave my copy of Principia away, massively complex old school rules (and in the clunky old school way, not the light hearted fun way) and a slightly holier than thou attitude about real gaming as I recall.

Very dated stuff, and it brings nothing to the party that Call of Cthulhu hasn't already brought us.

I'm with you Balb. The few things I'm looking forward to are still a few months away; some of them (secret, unnanounced projects) are even a year or more out.

And honestly, the only new RPG product I'm really anticipating at this point is the BRP Core Rules (hopefully) coming out in September. Aside from that, my gaming budget is going to BattleLore expansions these days, and that's about it.

The current developers of the old Quest Worlds project (which I used to lead) are going to be releasing their efforts as "Other Worlds".  It should be sufficiently different from HQ to justify purchase, I think.  Of course, having seen both their writing and pulled them together as a team of course I'd say that.  ;)  I am quite looking forward to seeing it.

The last few RPG releases that I've purchased and enjoyed have been:

Technomancer Press: Action Scenes (systemless) and Roleplaying with Kids.

Firefly Games: Faery's Tale (soon to be disconned in favor of the upcoming Deluxe edition ... which I will also buy).

PIG: Earth AD.2 and the Iron Gauntlets Companion.
