Title: Metal dice question
Post by: Dominus Nox on March 05, 2007, 02:03:39 AM
If one puts metal dice, even ones with rounded edges, in a case with plastic dice will it scratch them all up? I was wondering. I never plan to get metal dice, but you never know, I might have a few extra bucks, be in a game store and be hit by a weak moment....

My giant metal d20 with which one could kill a man with a single blow sits happily at the base of my dice pot, nestled amonst its plastic minions, keeping them safe and never thinking to scratch its loyal underlings.

Everyone I know who has a set of metal dice keeps them in a separate bag.

I'm one of those.  I've got a ful size set of brushed steel dice (I use them for C&C, mostly) and I keep them in the faux leather bag they came in.

I keep my GameScience pewter percentile "tablewreckers" in the small plastic bag they came in.  I haven't had any problems, but you never know.

I keep couple metal ones I have separate but for the sake of tables not dice.  Come to thing of it I've never used my metal dice. They were gifts and seem insanely impractical unless you have some sort of hard tray.  I have an antique wood table and hardwood floors. I don't even roll onto of Battlemats.

Yeah that sounds a bit wierd for having a pile of kids. But I figure I don't need to add to the damage. I've never taken them to someone else's house either.
