This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Man, forget GenCon! Lake Geneva is where its at!

If I can scrape up the funds to go, I won't even have to play a single game.  I can just sit and watch in respectful awe, the founding fathers all weekend.

Dang it, I'd love to meet Tom Wham!

The ones I'd like to meet from that list are Darlene (wonderful artist and map artist) and Rob Kuntz (the originator of the megadungeon).

But theyre all titans.

I know! I know!

What's even more awesomer is that they're running a smaller version in February or so. Same location. It's just you, two dozen other people, and GARY GYGAX!!!!

I hope they´ll be all well and alive next year, when I will be able to actually plan ahead.

Hey Sett, does that mean you might be hitting the States around that time next year?  We should totally hang.

Sadly I only know one name on that list (Gary Gygax).   I take it Ernie Gygax is his son or something.

Moriarty...wanna carpool?

That's Father's Day Weekend I think - or close to it.  So I've got some pull regarding doing what I want to do....

Just have to be careful not to jeopardize Gen Con :D

James, let me get back to you on that!  I'll be back working by then after a short layoff but its a not-so-small matter of getting the days off.

And I don't think LGGC has the vendor push that GenCon has so the wallets should be safe in that regard :)  But whatever that bus tour of Lake Geneva + history of TSR as narrated by Gygax costs, I'm paying it!

joewolz

As far as I know, there are no vendors at LGGC except Troll Lord.

 What, have you been role playing, like, a year ;)?

Sad thing is I live in Wisconsin so this would be like the good old days when I could go to Gen Con...except being short-handed 3 guys at work and everyone working 56 hour seeks with no end in sight, it's pretty unlikely I'll be able to get the days off.  (and don't say it!  I'm not one of those people who call in sick unless I'm really sick).
