"Traditional" RPG. Some  on this site think the Forge style Indie games are not real role-playing games and call those who like Indie games "swine." Others like to split them into "Traditional" and "Indie" labels or "Traditional" and "Narrativist" labels.

The difference of course is that big indie games use a Narrative approach to play that puts control over much of the world through the rules into the players hands, they may even hack the GM out of play entirely.

Traditional games the GM controls the world and nearly all/most of the details of play outside the character.

OVA takes a traditional RPG approach. GM controls the world, and rules, the player makes a character and plays it within those boundaries.


Me? I'm out there doing my own thing. Not worrying so much anymore about what people call stuff.

I haven't played it, but would if somebody asked. And, as a general rule, I don't like anime.

Nice flexible character system. Might buy 2e when it comes out.
