LotFP Starter Bundle SIX BOOKS (Print + PDF) for 113.00€  and it seems there are only 17 left!

It includes:

Rules & Magic = 20.00€
Death Frost Doom = 20.00€
Random Esoteric Creature Generator for Classic Fantasy Role-Playing Games and Their Modern Simulacra = 15.00€
Blood (Adventure Anthology) = 60.00€
Fire (Adventure Anthology) = 25.00€
Death (Adventure Anthology) = 30.00€

If bought separately the total cost would be 170.00€, so this bundle sounds like a good deal.

From these books I only already own the Rules & Magic, which is LotFP´s core book, well know and acclaimed.

I have read reviews of Death Frost Doom, it is also famous.

I will look for reviews of the other books but I would like to know your opinions. Do you know them? What do you think about them?

It's only worth it if you love LotFP, intended to buy those books anyway, and were waiting for a sale. It looks like that sale has arrived.

The three anthology books are of very high quality and the two I own have some great adventures. The DFD printing I have is of amazing quality and the adventure is legendary for good reason. RECG is a more standard quality, but quite useful.

Are any of them worth the price? That's a difficult question. LotFP books are given lavish production values, beyond what anyone really needs in a gaming book. Many buy LotFP books just as collectibles. I'm not a collector, so from my perspective the question is: Do you have  group of players that love the game and are in need of more adventures? If so, then go for it.

I'd rather have the money.

The rules are okay if you think every class but the fighter is too powerful and needs to be nerfed. The encumbrance system is actually good, but somewhat pointless given the nature of the game means characters won't last long to loot much.

The adventures are nihilistic and pretentious. Someone in another thread compared him to Slayer (the band), I think a more apt comparison is Morrissey. Or Bjork. Maybe if they did a collaboration.

OK, thanks; this is good food for thought. I need to reevaluate if I want to continue to collect books. At this moment in my life, I don't have a group of players, so I don't know how much actual use these books would see (which makes me very sad).

Thanks, your comment is valuable to me; I need to consider if I want to spend more money on books, especially considering that they may not see actual use at the table soon. There are several other products that I have my eyes on, but most are PDF, and it appeals to me more to buy real books as you get the item AND the content (compared to ONLY the content as in PDF files).

The LotFP adventures I have seen are an acquired taste; only some of the players are into those themes. However, as I don't have a group right now, it would be wishful thinking to hope that sometime soon, I could gather some like-minded individuals that may enjoy these...

I found the Random Esoteric Creature Generator extremely useful.  Any game where you may want unique creatures for the PCs to encounter can benefit from this.  I've used it for D&D, Worlds Without Number, and a few other OSR games.

It's well presented and fun to use.  Rolling on the charts often gets my creative juices flowing as I start putting together the creature based on the results.  I've sat down to put together a single creature and often found my self making several more because it was just fun to do so.

Slayer? Bjork? pfft!

Blood Fire Death is an excellent Bathory album.

The adventures are the strong point of LotFP. They are refreshingly unfiltered and worth reading for ideas even of you don't use the system or find their overall arc to be nihilistic or whatever, IMO.
The worms crawl in and the worms crawl out
The ones that crawl in are lean and thin
The ones that crawl out are fat and stout
Your eyes fall in and your teeth fall out
Your brains come tumbling down your snout
Be merry my friends
Be merry

Seems very expensive for a "Starter Bundle", I can't argue about the content of the bundle, it seems good, and it is a discount from the normal price, but I wonder if it is too much stuff for a "Starter".

I dunno,  I won't be getting it.

I own all of those items in book form and they are outstanding. Nobody touches the print quality of LotFP.

So if you are still wanting to collect books, these are great. RECG is also outstanding for any d20 system to general monsters.

And the $120 for that starter pack represents years of content. The only thing missing that I would also recommend picking up is a free PDF copy of the 2011 Referee Book from the main website (it will ultimately make you dl from OBS). http://www.lotfp.com/RPG/

VaM and EC are also good (and free) downloads.

The content is good, but you're right, it is very adventure-heavy for a starter. I'd say the core book, the Random Esoteric Creature Generator book, and one of the adventure anthologies (probably Fire) would keep it tidy. Maybe Vornheim too, but I don't think that is in print any more.
