This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

4e is to Descent what Rolemaster is to classic D&D.

The thread should be Descent is to 4e as Rolemaster is to 3e. Rolemaster was the ancestor of the 3e rules, but switched to d20s and mixed with older D&D. 4e stole a bunch of stuff from Descent (and computer rpgs), so Descent is 4e's ancestor.

Is this analogy going to be on the test, and how many points do I get for filling in the bubbles for my name correctly?
Just make your fuckin\' guy and roll the dice, you pricks. Focus on what\'s interesting, not what gives you the biggest randomly generated virtual penis.  -- J Arcane

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

Rolemaster is not complex. It just requires you to be able to read in columns and rows.

Apparently that's too much for some people these days.

Quote from: Benoist;496510Rolemaster isn't complex. Only stupid, chart-impaired twats repeating stupid internet memes without having played the game once in their lives believe this. A bit like all the stupid shit you hear constantly about AD&D, though it's the 10-15 year old DM that raped their childhoods that takes precedence in that particular case.
I do think Rolemaster is complex, but not as complex as some people say. In my book, D&D3 and Pathfinder are more complex than Rolemaster.

The most tedious parts are creating a character, and levelling up, actual play is very agile, specially combat.
Grając zaś w grę komputerową, być może zdarzyło się wam zapragnąć zejść z wyznaczonej przez autorów ścieżki i, miast zabić smoka i ożenić się z księżniczką, zabić księżniczkę i ożenić się ze smokiem.

And by your sword shall you live and serve thy brother, and it shall come to pass when you have dominion, you will break Jacob's yoke from your neck.

Quote from: Peregrin;496549By saying that you're implying that the game is for simpletons.  That's getting awfully close to a personal attack, pal.

I may just report your post because I can't deal with someone on the internet saying something I don't like.
Jesus, at first I thought you were serious! It must be all the Tangency threads I have read. :banghead:
