This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

LotFP: Adventure Hooks for the God that Crawls

Even though Raggi ridicules the idea of including adventure hooks in his excellent adventure The God that Crawls, I thought I would give it a shot. :) Here are two to get the ball rolling. Both assume a setting of England in the 1600's.

- The PCs are witch hunters that have come to the area based on rumors of witchcraft, cults or other strange activity.

- If the campaign is based during the English Civil War, the PCs are roundheads/parliamentarians that come to the area in search of catholics, heretics, royalists or royalist sympathizers - or maybe witches.

He 'ridicules' adventure hooks?  As in "I didn't bother putting any in because you're just going to make one up anyway"?

That's actually kind of lame.

Ok. Maybe 'ridicules' is the wrong word but I do think it's a bit of a cop out not to include them just because some GMs will make up their own. I for one find a lot of inspiration in adventure hooks and I think they are a valuable resource for almost any GM.

Obviously you may put me down as agreeing with you on that one.

The right one to use for Dark Fantasy D&D is the War of the Roses, obviously.
