This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Anyone tried EGG's Lejendary Adventures? If so, how was it? How does it compare to other fantasy RPGs?

Spike

I picked up the box set for about 15 bucks from the used portion of my game store last month. I've skimmed it briefly, it has some interesting tidbits.

Lets see, characters are called Avatars, so it's got a bit of renaming of common gamer terms.  The books are slim, light to very light on setting. Non-existant actually, which is cool. It's sort of classless. Actually, character creation is pretty different from most games, now that I think about it. Took a bit to grok, but once I did it felt fast.

Don't think I'll be playing it soon, though. Sorry I can't tell ya more off the top of my head.
For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.

This is true, but with the caveat that I have much less contempt for Gary here than I do for most instances of this. He was incredibly fearful (with some good reason) that the pernicious latter-day TSR would take any excuse to sue him.

Hell, I doubt the man woke up one day and said "I know! 'Lejendary!' It's perfect!" :)
In order to qualify as a roleplaying game, a game design must feature:

1. A traditional player/GM relationship.
2. No set story or plot.
3. No live action aspect.
4. No win conditions.

Don't like it? Too bad.
