This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Seriously, dude, life isn't a telenovela or old time western with mustache-twirling, black-hatted bandits. No one tied you to the railroad tracks.

No real surprises there.

Oh well, at least he's not jumping up and down and shouting about how he did it all by himself and the fans are all useless dickwads.

It's all part of the act.

It looks ridiculous to us, because we aren't his audience.  The brainless fucksticks who actually still consider themselves loyal fans eat this shit up like candy.

It's like the pathetic whiner running your FLGS always going on about "supporting your local game store" when what he really means is "you're a horrible human being if you even consider anything less than giving me hundreds of dollars a month", only writ larger.

It's a con, Sean.

Geese Louise! Give us some credit for having some brains of our own. Has he always been that over the top and dramatic? If he wanted funds he should have opened it up OGL style.

Over the top much?

I know I'm mentioned in there, but I'm happy I did a little something to help folks out and get more folks playing some of the games I like.  The folks at Palladium are good people and friends, and I'm proud to call them such.

Yeah, Kudos for having an idea so good that it's been a visible help for the company.

Well, unfortunately, life got in the way (read: kicked me square in the ass repeatedly), and I had to hand over the reins for a bit to James Brown/Reelman, who's a great guy,a big Palladium fan, and according to everyone who's played with him, a really amazing GM. Right now, I'm just another Ambassador trying to make my little corner of the world a Palladium bastion. :)

I really left things unfinished, but I'm hoping it can continue to grow and expand as it has been. Con presence and number of demos ran has been way up.

I think if there was a real Fan Effort behind supporting Palladium, particularly in the sense of "advertising" palladium's games by word of mouth and events and clubs and such, it could help that company and RPGs in general.

That said, all of it would be better if Siembieda also took a few self-improvement courses to change some details of his personality...

Holy crap.  I pretty much OD'd on the purple prose in that post.  I'm lying here, twitching.

I have to wonder if he's written charity income into his new business model.  Or tithing.  Seriously, it sounds like he's running a church now instead of a game company.  Embarrassing.

Well, we're out there.  Megaversal Ambassadors are supposed to stress the core tenets of enthusiasm and fun.  PB has seen results from those efforts, but there's a metric ton more to do.

You know, Kev is who he is.  The guy wears his heart on his sleeve, and can be emotional, impassioned, over-the-top, and an extremely polarizing figure.  But I consider him a friend, a helluva nice guy, and a Gamer (emphasis on the capital).  The guy eat, breathes, and sleeps his games and ideas for them.  And they aren't to everyone's tastes, but I can't think of anyone who gets as purely excited by gaming and by just the act of writing material (or who writes as purely excitedly and enthusiastically style-wise as he does).  And I may not agree with everything the guy does, but I don't have to.  Hell, my versions of Rifts and Palladium Fantasy are likely a far cry from what goes on in his games.  But I'm having fun with Rifts and Palladium Fantasy, and I'll keep doing what I can to get new gamers for those lines.

I knew it was a con when Palladium started omitting details (like they got a settlement right about the time they started taking donations) and avoided questions (like how much of what was taken was personal property and how much was company property).

But, c'mon, theatrics? Capitalized buzz words? Everytime? It feels so Tammy Faye Baker-ish. All crocodile tears and heavy mascara.

Zachary, have you actually gamed with Mr. Siembieda?  He's one of a handful of auteurs sometimes accused of no longer playing their own products.

Oh, yes.  He doesn't game as much as he'd like, but he still games.  Crazy, crazy-ass mammoth games.
