This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Other Worlds isn't really an RPG, but since this table could theoretically be used for RPG purposes, I'm not going to move this thread.

So, not being any sort of expert (read: knows not shit) about Other Worlds, the DTRPG says it's an RPG... Pundit says it isn't.  So... Uhm, what is it??

I just very recently did a Review of it, which you can find over in our Reviews subforum.

Sort of a pattern. I started off just making up traits and their opposites, then looked at the random trait tables in the 1e DMG and the existing archetype templates in the Other Worlds rulebook to see if I'd missed anything important, again pairing them into opposites. After that I came up with the genre-specific ones and used them to replace anything that felt like it might not be very interesting to actually play out.
