A user on the official Marvel Multiverse subreddit has posted screenshots that suggest the playtest version of the Marvel Multiverse Roleplaying Game was secretly authored by Alexander Macris. According to screenshots posted by the user, Macris says Mike Capps, co-owner of Autarch, was contracted to write the game for Marvel, and asked Macris to author a draft. In true wokist fashion, Marvel then fired Capps for "salty language," and screwed him out of the pay and the work (even though Capp is listed as a designer on the playtest), which Macris alleges was 50% finished.

It's not surprising that Marvel would treat creators this way. I'd say Matt Forbeck should watch out, but he has the appropriate wokist credentials, so he's probably OK. Leave it to a leftist like him to sign his name to another's work.
Oh, well, at least the soygamers will be having a good cry after finding out the game they love was written by someone they hate.
I haven't played Marvel Mutliverse yet. But I've read both the finished rulebook and the leaked draft that was allegedly written about the same time as these claims. If so, they are essentially two different games. And that might get tricky legally. The final version in my opinion is a lot better than that first draft. Which had me kind of worried. But it's still not as good as Faserip for the simplicity and elegance it had when designing what is normally a very crunchy niche in Super Hero games.

Anyway, the 2nd edition ACKS Kickstarter is now at 300% here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/autarch/adventurer-conqueror-king-system-imperial-imprint-acks-ii
Looking forward to you talking more shit about the guy who started your career.

Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not Zak, and I've talked zero shit about Alexander Macris. I'm glad his KS is kicking ass.

Did you pledge on the ACKS II Kickstarter? It's already smashed a bunch of stretch goals in the first few hours...

I haven't, but I wish him the best of luck. Not that he needs it.

I don't need another system but frankly it looks great. There are a lot of useful tools. I will be backing it, at the very least to piss off the pearl clutching redditors.
There was some real craziness and shenanigans on Reddit over this in the last few days. It looked like brigading to try and tank the KS to me...people posting stuff over and over...single posts from the same users with double-digit upvotes but almost no comments other than the handful spamming hate. I'm glad the Kickstarter doesn't seem to be affected.
Yeah I saw a bit of that. It's irrational mob-like behavior. There's no reasoning with people like that.
Does that weak shit even work anymore? lol
Not really. I think it just drove the numbers higher - closing in on $200k in the first day.
Yea. I wasn't even considering backing. But after seeing the negative campaign, I'm thinking $50 for 3 PDFs is a lot, but it includes access to the Foundry plugin too. It's really close to the $200,000 access to the Foundry addon...
Yup. Seems sure to make it. Plus, the $50 is for 3 books, basically a PHB, a DMG, and a MM, about 1,400 pages, total. And a lot of the content is really modular.
To me the $175 early bird for three 400-500 page leather hardbacks, PDFs, GM screen and Foundry module seems like a good deal. Large Paizo books are $60 a pop for comparison.
I've been watching his ACKS Imperial Imprint Edition updates in his Arbiter of Worlds videos, and I'm fairly certain at this point that Alex has made THE perfect system for me (well D&D system anyway). Of course I was already a pretty big ACKS fan,, but I really appreciate the thought that has gone in to the update.
