This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

It came from the deep...discount bin.

I'm on a quest!

...those helmets ARE Spanish, right?

They're morions - a typical 16th-early 17th century helmet. The Spanish wore them - it's the prototypical "conquistador" helmet - but the English of the time wore them too. Look at a pic of Myles Standish sometime.

Dr Rotwang!

Morions.  Yeah, I totally read them as "Spaniard Hats".

"Aahh...I see that joo naytiff Aztecs have a lot of the gold, and very nice ceetees, jess?  Ahh, but joo are not civilized.  So...the solooshon ees seemple!  *stabbity stabbity kill kill burn*  The gold!  She is so...eh, the blood weel wash off."

Great pulp villains, Conquistadores.

NOTE: Before someone wants to get all wound up about Spanish/Mexican history -- sit on it.  My level of disinterest in the argument borders upon the epic.

Quote from: cnath.rmThat's a great cover!!  Particularly for the time period. I can't tell from the pic, is it a normally sized rpg book?

No, it was a Penguin book, roughly the same dimensions as the Fighting Fantasy/Dungeoneer series books.
