This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: jrientsDo you like the screen?  Unlike Hackmaster, it's not obvious to me that I need the official screen for C&C.

It isn't strictly needed, no.  But I firmly believe with it, in Gary's name, I shall conquer.

And I'm a screen guy by default.

Quote from: GameDaddyCurrently one of my favorite RPGs--- Just can't decide what campaign setting to play regularly in. I have Airdhe. A bit dark for me.

So far I have used it mostly for putting together one-shot adventures, and convention RPG sessions which have been great fun.

Anyone have a good line on a campaign setting suggestion for this?

Right now I'm thinking Bard Games Atlantis. Eberron, or a homebrew setting, but just don't want to invest the immense amount of time necessary to flesh a campaign or world setting. Maybe Conan's Cimmeria would be good as well.

I just noticed that nobody replied to your query, GameDaddy.  So here are my thoughts ...

As for TLG settings, I don't have the Airdhe setting, so I can't comment on it.  Castle Zagyg: Yggsburgh and the Eastmark Gazetteer describe a small-ish setting (about 50 miles by 50 miles), along with a number of adventures, designed by Gary Gygax.  A complete city is also described in Yggsburgh.

Also worth checking out from TLG is the Haunted Highlands setting, which is being developed over a series of modules (the 'DB' series).  A folio for it should be out soon.

James Mishler is developing a version of the classic Wilderlands setting for C&C, called the Wilderlands of High Adventure.  So far it looks great, but unfortunately the first gazetteer (covering the Southern Reaches) hasn't come out yet.  Hopefully it will soon.

In addition to explicitly C&C settings, of course, it should be a snap to use any Classic D&D setting (e.g. the 'Known World', a.k.a. Mystara) or 1e AD&D setting (e.g. Greyhawk or Forgotten Realms) or 2e AD&D setting (too many to mention) with C&C.

If you want a compact but very colourful setting (designed for Labyrinth Lord, a.k.a. Basic D&D, but easily adapted to C&C), I strongly recommend checking out Grubman's Phoenix Barony.

Hope that helps!  :)

I'm gonna second (and fourth - let someone else have third) the utility of "Castle Zagyg" and "Eastmark".  They are chock-full of NPCs, locations, adventure hooks, random charts and stuff to make a game go.
