This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Is there any good campaigns in which I can´t ever fly a Starship?

Quote from: SettembriniTARDIS? I can fly the TARDIS in Nobilis?
Who will GM Nobilis for me?
Where can I sign up?

Don't buy it, Sett. You could have some kind of tardis-like object in Nobilis, but it wouldn't feel anything like Dr.Who.

QuoteBut a spaceship-less games is bound to suck.

What about In Harm's Way?  Can you substitute a starship for an old wooden ship? What if said old wooden ship were named Enterprise?

RPGPundit

And said old wooden Enterprise were already in In Harm's Way as an example?

Schooners

USS Enterprise, 14
Guns
Upper Deck 14 X 18 pndr Carronades
2 X 9 pndr Chase
Penetration: 6 sides/4 bow/any stern
Constitution: 400/300/200/100
Note: This is after the total rebuild in Venice in 1805. Before
this, she was identical to the USS Experiment.

USS Experiment, 12
Guns
Upper Deck 12 X 6 pndrs
Penetration: 4 sides/any bow/any stern
Constitution: 360/270/180/90

This ship is, of course, the direct ancestor of Capt. Kirk's and Capt. Picard's Enterprises. They even did a holodeck bit aboard her.

That sounds more like Harm's Way by Colin Greenland.

Maybe these other cats would let you play/have a star ship in their games but if you tried it in my Shadowrun campaign I'd have you kicked square in the balls by a midget.

TonyLB

Wow Paul ... that's a nasty image.  The only way I can make it work out in my head is if either (a) the victim is already on his knees or (b) the midget is standing on a bar-stool.

Either way ... it's just worse than a normal steel-toed boot to the nadgers, in ways that I find hard to quantify.

But will the midgets leave their cyber spurs retracted or not? That's the really important question any would-be ball kick victim needs to ask.

Granted, other time-travelling shows might come closer to the same feel... A reviewer once remarked that The Whispering Vault is like Sapphire and Steel written by Clive Barker. In a number of ways, Nobilis is like The Whispering Vault written by Neil Gaiman.
