This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: pigames.netThat sounds about right. I like Clinton's work, only the books always come out larger than they need to be, making the actual games smaller that than they look. Not that it's a bad thing, just seemingly misleading.

Brett,

Hey - and feel free to e-mail/PM me, because it's off topic - could you explain? I'm not asking in a hostile manner, either: I was just curious what you meant, as I respect your stuff, and am always looking to improve mine.

I'll email you shortly. BTW, your book went out today, so you might get it by Saturday.

I'm glad I saw this thread, Lulu.com looks interesting.

I've long wanted to have a printed copy of my homebrew system, but just never got around to doing it. This might be a means to get a couple handfuls of copies for people.

Anyone have experience with lulu.com as to how it would work towards this end?

It works great. If you don't want it sold generally, you can choose an option to have the product visible only to yourself. You pay only the cost to print and ship it.

So here's a stupid question, but does Lulu make the PDFs for you, or do you have to have a PDF made and formatted before you deal with them?

Still trying to figure out options for "Forward... to Adventure!" here.

Well, I've never done anything but given them a pdf, but IIRC, they can take a word document as well. You are responsible for formatting it. There are several third parties who will layout your document as an option as well.

"You can upload a PDF that you create, which will result in a published version of your printed material that looks exactly as you intended. If you upload a document that is not a PDF, the Lulu converter opens your document and generates a PDF. For guidelines on uploading software or multimedia content for downloadable or disc products, please see the individual Product FAQs."  They accept a ton of non-pdf formats if you want to rist the automatic conversion.
"Dr.Who and CoC are, on the level of what the characters in it do, unbelievably freaking similar. The main difference is that in Dr. Who, Nyarlathotep is on your side, in the form of the Doctor."

Take care Nothingland. You were always one of the most ridiculously good-looking sites on the internets, and the web too. I\'ll miss you.  -"Derek Zoolander MD" at a site long gone.

Hmm... I'd still rather find some small-publisher who wanted to add it to his own stock of PDFs, rather than go the Lulu route...

Haven't heard of it 'til now.
Not yet ready to pass judgement.
Still, being a man of such few means...
This might be convenient.

I can vouch for FtA!s playability and likability. I test-played it atr several conventions. People liked it.

Quote from: Clinton R. NixonNeither of these are on Lulu. I'm not sure where that came from.

I keep my work and my games pretty separate in online forums, but, yep, I do work as a developer at Lulu. Some of my favorite stuff there:

Wow, Earthdawn!  No shit!

I've been an Earthdawn fanboy since it came out.  It's the only product line I've ever tried to collect all of.  Clunky system and all, I loves me some Earthdawn.

Now it looks like there's a new edition I knew nothing about...  Hmmmmm....

Hmm, I didn't know Run Robot Red was on there.  Annie Rush is neat.
