This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Has anyone successfully played a 6-12 month (or longer) campaign with ItO? I'd even accept that you might know of a guy who knows a guy...

If so, care to share your impressions/what you have heard?

I played a couple short series with the system. It has a unique vibe to it, and the mechanics fit together well. The basic advancement system is centered around expeditions, or trips hunting treasure, typically in the form of magical devices called Arcanum.

I want to put together a potential campaign for it, but my usual approach for games like OD&D or LotFP doesn't seem to quite fit. LotFP feels pretty close.

Curious to learn what others have experienced.

Sorry, no experience. Best of luck!  :)
Just make your fuckin\' guy and roll the dice, you pricks. Focus on what\'s interesting, not what gives you the biggest randomly generated virtual penis.  -- J Arcane

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

I've played maybe 8-9 West Marches-style games with it (with one extended adventure that lasted 3 sessions).  It was never intended to be a campaign as such, so I can't really help with your question.  I'd guess that if I was going to run a campaign I would definitely hype the Arcana and the Organization/enterprise rules to maximize the content.

West Marches...that is very interesting. I can see how that would pair nicely. Curious, were you the hardcore wm where players organized the event(s) asking to explore X, or was it more of beginning and ending most sessions in a hub location knowing the people at the table could change? What were your impressions? Why did your group stop?

Unrelated to the quote, and thanks Opaopajr for the support, it just seems odd to me that something that recently closed a 150k kickstarter for a remastered version has so little out there for medium/long-term play. I suspect examples exist on a discord or some site, but perhaps not.

I ran the game as kind of a temporary campaign while our normal GM was having a lot of mandatory OT at work.  As such, it was mostly West Marches style play with the players deciding where they wanted to go and me trying to make each session self-contained but, as I mentioned, I did end of with one adventure that spanned  3 sessions due to poor planning on my part.  The campaign just stopped because the normal GM transitioned to an easier work schedule, though people seemed willing to continue my sessions if need be.
