This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

If you could hand out a copy of a free RPG to everyone...

I'd hand out free copies of GURPS 4/e ....

....with a DEMO table nearby where they can join in on a session if they want to.

 What??

 At least I'm consistent.

This is what a really cool FANTASY RPG should be like :

They still stand up really well as an entry-level game. The Legend setting book was a thing of beauty-- I still get the odd hankering to run a game there.

I should do an RPG focussing on a team of Hussade players. :D

Quote from: MarcoIt's a pretty warped take on Alice in Wonderland (or, well Lewis Carroll's books, AiW is the Disney movie). I think it might be a bit tough for new gamers to get their heads around (and I wrote it)--but it's free. There's some beautiful artwork in there--who knows, it might grab 'em :)

Edited: I see this was for experienced gamers--yeah, shouldn't be too hard for an experience gamer to make at least heads or tails of JAGS Wonderland (I think).

I have to admit I just downloaded the new version of JAGS so I am going to take a look at it.   So I cannot speak for the system.

But I did take a look at the wonderland supplement and it looked really well done and the art I have to admit was impressive.

I'm gonna have to second Shadow of Yesterday, for gamers and rubes alike.

Runners-up: Star Wars D6 and Heroquest.

Though SOTC looks like a good pick as well. Dammit! I'm never good at these "pick just one" things.

Peace,

I use to play a mystic, I'd still play it to day, it was a neat little game

To people who were already gamers, and liked what they were doing, I'd give Pendragon.

To people who had once been gamers but were now out of it, I'd give Dogs in the Vineyard.

To people who had never played an RPG before, I would give My Life with Master.

Oh, it was.

I mean that game will certainly create an impression. Beside my red box D&D choice, which probably would prove predictably exciting if they were so inclined...your choice would generate some discussion or at least it has when some of my non gamer friends have read it.

MLwM is consistently the game that draws the most interest from my NG friends.
