I don't think Rifts is real. It must be a parody of Encounter Critical.

But seriously, gonzo's in the eye of the beholder. D&D is just as much a combination of everything the authors thought was cool, so's the White Wolf-verse.

Maybe this is how non-gamers feel when they look at D&D?
