As it says...
Did 4th edition kill Midnight? Or was it the acquisition of WFRP?
What happened? A cursory websearch revealed nothing other than Midnight disappeared while I wasn't looking.
I am not sure, FFG seems prone to serious ups and down of design/support. s (and I'm the bipolar one)
Last I checked they had it on their website. They don't have it now. I imagine its another one of the things they're jettisoning to focus on the money makers. With 4E out, they may have decided to focus on competition rather than support.
Who knows?
It looks like FFG is not renewing licenses/contracts for older games. I could be wrong, but it seems to have started with Blue Planet.
Last year they put out a call for freelancers to work on adapting their back-catalogue to 4e. It was a 6-month salaried contract. I know 'cos i applied. Then they suddenly pulled the plug on it. Then they got WFRP & 40k. Dunno whether those two events are linked or not, but the timing tends to support that supposition.
Gawd. Is FFG the FOX of gaming?
For all intents and purposes, Midnight is dead.
The only hope--a long shot at best--is that the movie/pilot, Midnight Chronicles, finally gets released and does well enough to justify its revival under the excuse of it being advertising. That, however, seems like waiting for Godot.

Sadly, yes.

That is very sad and disturbing.
I believe I shall pick up the Midnight books where I can and begin, in earnest, an adaptation to a system I like to run...maybe Savage Worlds, Unisystem or SAGA.
Hm.
Thank you for the info, guys.
