This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

That's what porn is called outside of the US.

Huh, well I originally thought it was some post modernist self insert fanfiction wankery bastardized form of role playing games.

"Story-games" could mean 2 distinct things:

1) Games where participants alternate improvising and telling stories mediated by rules in some way. Ie: Munchausen, Universalis, Kingdom.

2) RPGs that came out of the Forge community from the early 00s, where the rules focus on exploring narratives more than physical challenges, but that are still predominately RPGs (you control an alter-ego and interact with the world through him/her). Ie: Dogs in the Vineyard, Burning Wheel, Primetime Adventures.

The definition that's been used these days is number 1), as the second group has been recognised as RPGs more and more, even having their characteristics bleeding into more traditional games (see the new Kult: Divinity Lost, for eg).

Possibly depends on your own search history?

Since it was For Science...Did you conduct a thorough and detailed investigation? :D

I need you to roll a perception check.....

Aren't 'ads' an abbreviation of advertisements, but adds is either additional or an abbreviation of attention deficit disorder syndrome.
Doesn't interpretation (I) imply that google understands that story games needs something extra and suggests that adding porn to the mix may help your game, or interpretation (ii) imply that story games are equivalent to porn attention deficit (presumably meaning that players find porn uninteresting??????

I used a hands-on approach to the Scientific Method. Repeated tests on different devices and with different search engines gave similar results.
I also tried 'ads' and checked for 'gamrs' but the variance in the test results was minimal.

Quote from: Razor 007;1091511Well, was it good porn?
Sorry, that was out of scope for this experiment, which was about advertisements and gaming.
I'll keep this in mind for my post graduate though.

Thank you for the explanation, and some times I will fat finger my phone keypad or just completely derp out on the spelling. Even the less serious responses were fun to read.
