SPECIAL NOTICE
Malicious code was found on the site, which has been removed, but would have been able to access files and the database, revealing email addresses, posts, and encoded passwords (which would need to be decoded). However, there is no direct evidence that any such activity occurred. REGARDLESS, BE SURE TO CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS. And as is good practice, remember to never use the same password on more than one site. While performing housekeeping, we also decided to upgrade the forums.
This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

No, I respond because you spout stupid bullshit.  You can pretend it's just you that is targeted, but I am pretty consistent about pointing out stupid bullshit when anyone says it.  You just happen to say it with alarming regularity.  When Frank says stupid bullshit, I tell him he is saying stupid bullshit.  When Windjammer says stupid bullshit, I tell him he is saying stupid bullshit.  When Thanlis says stupid bullshit, I tell him he is saying stupid bullshit.  When Benoist says stupid bullshit, I tell him he is saying stupid bullshit.  The big difference here, that you want to deny, is that these people have occasional glitches where they say stupid bullshit.  I am generally more lenient and understanding when they do it, because it is less common, and they generally don't say stupid bullshit.

For example, this almost sounds like a refutation, and you appear to think it is:

"A 14 intelligence, 17 strength swordmage gets only a +4 to hit vs a +6."

Except the statement that you think you are refuting is:

"So that -2 difference between a 14 and an 18 was enough to make him go to basic attacks?"

In other words, you are confirming that a difference of two points exists, and that causes the player to make basic attacks instead of using class powers.  So, you are spouting stupid bullshit.

You want that to be a refutation, you desperately need that to be a refutation, but it simply isn't.  You are confirming the statement, but then continue as though you refuted the statement by offering up a host of reasons without any support as to how or when those would be used with any kind of frequency.  You then act as though there is not really a difference between +4 and +6, as they are both likely to hit; the connotation being 'equally likely to hit', when it is pretty clear they are not equally likely to hit.  This is after a statement about 'amateur mathematicians', as though the speaker (ie, you) is a paid and degreed mathematician.  Which, if you can't tell the difference between +4 and +6, seems pretty unlikely.

You didn't try to explain anything simply, you tried to obfuscate the facts with a blizzard of random and mostly unrelated jargon.  I don't know how many fucking times I have to explain this before it sinks in.  When you stop saying stupid bullshit, you will not be called on saying stupid bullshit.  Polish up your arguments, stop acting like this is junior high, and 'if you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit' is a joke, not a valid lifestyle choice.

If you don't like it, fuck off and get better.  Stop whining like a little bitch about it.

On a personal note, working with the military is not the same as being in the military.  "In the military, we use..." sounds like you are or were in the military.  If you served in the armed forces, I will eat my hat.  I guarantee you would have been chewed up and spit out before the third week of boot.

6 Years, Army Military Intelligence, awarded the ARCOM, JSCM, Good Conduct Medal (:)), and I still work for the DoD and it's associated communities for the last 8 years. In fact, I have a meeting at the Pentagon in less than a week.

Does anyone else have any questions about why you might not want to use a Basic Attack in certain situations? If it's just me and my stalkers right now I guess I could just let this go. It's not a controversial point..unless you are a mentally ill person with an obsession complex.

EDIT: That should be JSCM. I got the acronym wrong. Joint Service Commendation.
