This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Is Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition more playable, or is it change for change sake?

Well, I'll throw that on my podcast app and see what I think of it.  Thanks for the heads up!

I read in a review that RoR is also based on a d100 type system. Can you share what the differences are compared to classic (pre CoC 7) Call of Cthulhu?

It was!  The same sort of confusion, in-jokes, and brilliance I've seen at other tables of CoC.

Well, if you check out the review you'll probably have a lot of your questions answered. It's in some ways very similar to CoC; it's pretty compatible. But some of the details of character creation are different, the 'sanity' mechanic (Rationality) is different, the magic is different.

... and who doesn't like French Boomhower. Although, he's not exactly consistent with that voice through the play, it cracked me up.

+1 and it sure is. It might even be the best d100 base for most genres.

I've been wanting to read that, but I've been busy with other things.  I really enjoyed the original DG books, and backed the kickstarter for pdfs.

Is it a full rule-set?

Second, isn't it only Modern? Or is it now set in older times?
