This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

The Witch-King of Tsámra

Howdy everyone. I am looking for players to start up a game of Arrows of Indra over Discord. The game will be taking place on Tuesdays at 7:30 PM CT. If you are interested please post here and I will PM you an invite. Also if you have any questions please ask them. Furthermore I am willing to negotiate the time we start and if we play weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

I'm betting it is difficult for most people to wrap their heads around.

I'm not sure. I have one player so far and no one has commented that.

If you've played D&D, you shouldn't have any trouble getting your head around AoI.

Like, did you find Al-Qadim impossible to understand?

Understand and able to "do it right" are far from the same.  Example is Empire of the Petal Throne.
Non-European style games require more effort than many players want to expend.

The Witch-King of Tsámra

Empire of The Petal Throne has no one right way. You don't have to play it like the creator Professor Barker. Every Tekumel is different and just because x cultural idea exists doesn't mean it does in your Tekumel. Hell someone on the EPT facebook group has been running a He-Man type version of Tekumel. I even remember someone on there using a map of the Indus River Valley instead of the map for the game. So yeah it's weird that me an autistic person has to tell people that black and white thinking is never a good idea.

I looked at that picture and immediately thought, Tekumel. Maybe not too surprising as EoPT took inspiration from South Asian cultures among others, if I understand correctly.
