This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

How much $$$/month do you spend on RPGs?

Me, I'm trying to stick to $50 or less. It's hard, especially when I have A Project (TM) going. Then, the Noble Knight pwns me.

Actual RPG stuff-not supplies, food, and etc...? 20 bucks a month or less-when you average it all out.

This year has been an exception as I've dropped 200 bucks on 10 D&D 3.5 e books, and another 40 on two copies of SWSE.

But before that it had been....several years since I had to purchase a book. I am hoping to drop more on books next year, picking up some 3.5e books on the cheap after 4e is released.

Nicephorus

It varies quite a bit.  Many months, it's zero.  some, it's as high as fifty.  A big chunk of my game spending is at Half Price Books, so there's some luck of the draw.

The last year or so: $10 or less.

When I played more: $50 easy.

Koltar

I get a discount at work - that throws off my estimate a little bit.

I can go a month or two with only picking up a new pdf or so.  About once or twice a year, I get some sort of windfall and am able to pick up some oldies but goodies, fill in some of my Traveller or old D&D catalogs, and grab a few products/accessories I've been interested in.  With kid #2 on the way, I try to barter/trade whenever possible (btw, jrients, man do I have a surprise for you in exchange for the minis/paint stuff!!!)

I also do the Palladium X-Mas Grab Bag every Christmas, which is always nice.

I probably won't buy anything in September, since I'm recovering from GenCon.  But I usually spend about $100 a month on stuff.  I'll probably spend less than that this month, though.

I'll go several months at a time without buying anything. Then I'll splurge and spend up to £100 (c.$200) of books per month for a couple of months in succession.

So far this year I've spent approximately £300 on gaming. GenCOn UK is next weekend, so I expect that figure to inflate dramatically.

Jason Coplen

I usually spend $20 or more a month. Once a month I go down and buy a single gaming book, which isn't bad. Now back when I had disposable income I'd drop $200 plus a month.
Running: HarnMaster, and prepping for Werewolf 5.

I like to read RPG's for fun, just to see how they're put together, and I've been buying stuff for my True20 space campaign lately, so I'm at about 50$ a month. I wish I'd bought Savage Worlds instead of HEX, though.

Having recently gone over the family finances with a fine tooth comb, it looks like forty bucks a month is typical for me as of late.

Generally, I'm paying less now than I was years ago, and less interested in what is actually going on out there to boot.

I'm more in a TPB comics sort of mood these days anyway.

But, I'll drop the dimes on something Big and Pretty (lookin' at you WHFRP Tome of Salvation) when it comes along with certainly less hesitation than I did before.
I start from his boots and work my way up. It takes a good half a roll to encompass his jolly round belly alone. Soon, Father Christmas is completely wrapped in clingfilm. It is not quite so good as wrapping Roy but it is enjoyable nonetheless and is certainly a feather in my cap.

Vadrus

Most months, erm, probably at least £150.00 ($300.00) though last month it was probably a little bit higher, closer to £250.00

Yeah, over that last year an a half I have lost a little bit of interest in gaming as whole. It used to be my primary hobby, now it's more like something I keep in touch with.

I've moved on to more outdoors stuff, reading and writing (firction and book reviews). Of course getting married and having a baby on the way changes your outlook sometimes as well. Now I have a family &  house to take care of and my interests have changed. :deflated:

Consonant Dude

Man, I'm stunned that there are people out there wasting over $200 a month on this stuff.

Forgetting for a minute that I have problems finding decent enough products to purchase...

Barring being filthy rich, I just can't imagine allocating that much of my leisure budget on that when there's so much I can do with my cash.
