This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

How Many WotC Official Products Do You Buy?

None, because they continue to sell and profit off of racist products. They say so themselves!  :o

Also, they keep calling the Referee/Storyteller/Day Care Attendant, the Dungeon Master... yikes.

I have original printings of the 5e PHB, MM, and DMG but I don't really use them. I find that ACKS does what I want a lot better and Alexander Macris actually likes his customers.

tenbones

Zero.

I haven't purchased an official WotC product in years. But I'm not in their demographic - so, it's not really a surprise.

.....
*I do buy old TSR stuff from Drivethru, which WoTC makes money from of course.

Good point. I too, buy old stuff through Drivethru....forgot about that.

Same though I wish Drivethrurpg would be consist with their 2E reprints. The Complete  and blue book DMG series are still only in PDF for the most part. Daddy wants his Complete Ninja 🥷 Handbook.

Eric Diaz

Ah yes, DTRPG stuff, I do buy some classics from time to time.
Chaos Factory Books  - Dark fantasy RPGs and more!

Methods & Madness - my  D&D 5e / Old School / Game design blog.

I own the following books.  1.  D&D players handbook 3.5.  D&D Monster Manual for 3.5.   Forgotten Realms for 3.5.

None have ever been used for play.

Now, if you want me to list my entire Palladium Books collection, we're going to need some patience.  I'm sure it's over 100 books at this point.
I'm glad for you if you like the top selling game of the genre.  Me, I like the road less travelled, and will be the player asking we try a game you've never heard of.

The Spaniard

Zero.  Won't spend a dime with the wokesters.

DM_Curt

For me, a steadily decreasing percentage as the quality of the product decreases.
I'm at 0% for their latest thing: "Sigil, but..."
My last WotC purchase was "I'll take it off your hands" for a friend. And that book was 75% useless pages.

After their shenanegans with Strixhaven, where Amazon listed it as a "Bestseller" in the Greek & Roman mythology category, I don't trust anything they make.

Amazon Lists Wildspace for DragonStrike as a published product when it never was. Some years ago they were really bad about that and there would be product listed ever few months for WOTC for example that did not exist. WOTC apparently did not even know. If thats true then just how lax is Amazon's security that anyone can add fake products for a company?

Addendum. Quick check shows it no longer listed.

How about; "I Used to Buy It Sometimes, back before They Fucked it All Up with Social Justice."

I think that would be a popular poll option.

According to my wife; I have a LOT of Books, DM Screens, Maps, Miniatures, and Dice.  I'm sure some here have much more than I do.
Let the Dice, Decide the Outcome.  Accept the Results.

Crusader X

I was buying all the 5e stuff up until Waterdeep Dragon Heist.  The books became more blatantly woke around that time.  So that's when I stopped giving WotC my money, and I haven't bought a 5e product since.

Thornhammer

I can't say "never" but I'm certainly being a lot more selective.

Curse of Strahd was the last 5E thing I bought, and the only things on my horizon are reprints of older editions.

RebelSky

I own nothing for 5e, nothing anymore for 3.5, and am planning on purchasing a lot of 4e in the future as it's the only WotC edition worth playing and investing in. And since I'll be buying from the used market, this means WotC isn't getting a dime from me, which is how I like it.

APN

Bought the core books for 5e. And 4e. 3e. Never read any of them save to flick through and confirm why I still don't play D&D. 2e was a semi read to skim through and make sure the basics weren't changed much. I keep convincing myself that D&D should be revisited because it's where I started with Moldvay but...  I dunno. Big hardback tomes that glaze my eyes over are attracting my attention less and less these days.

Much more likely to buy the old school stuff on Drivethru as reprints. I couldn't care less that they apologise for the writing. Their apology means little to me whilst they continue to sell the books.

Last stuff I bought was the starter and essential boxes to introduce my 12 y/o son to. They are both still in shrink and I'm thinking Basic, T&T or one of the zillion clones are better bets.
