This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

On the Edge was always one of those "gotta buy a few before they're gone" games for me. Never did get around to it, and now my RPG collection is several plastic tubs worth. I shudder to think of the collector prices... :(
Just make your fuckin\' guy and roll the dice, you pricks. Focus on what\'s interesting, not what gives you the biggest randomly generated virtual penis.  -- J Arcane

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.

On the Edge is the spin-off card game, Over the Edge is the RPG on which it's based.

And it's still surprisingly cheap. For some reason OtE never really became a collectible.

And there is of course Cure Fuzzy *cockfighting* Seizure Monsters for BESM. Distributors freaked and so GOO released a second version with a cheery cute cover and the *cockfighting* removed from the title. Otherwise exact same game.

Quote from: myleftnut;1088946There was a miniatures game called Spinespur that was controversial.

Oh yeah, Rapey the Clown!

I really liked Spinespur.  Some of it, anyway.  Thought they should have downplayed the magic aspect and went more with the urban horror slasher flick aspect.

Quote from: kythri;1088565Unless I've overlooked something in the rules, they don't explicitly say "no political discussion", they say, amongst other prohibited things, that "devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion" is prohibited.

It seems that if the political discussion is directly related to the topic, and that topic (at least, in this forum) is about RPGs, then it's tentatively allowed.

Ah! A loophole! I do love a good loophole.

It's actually a good game.  The molds for the minis were sold to another company so it's possible to play it if you can get a hold of the rules.  I'll look it up and post the company currently producing them for those interested.
