This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Obscure "Lord of the Rings" Book/Journal

Many years ago (actually at least 25), I stumbled into an old bookshop in Ipswich, UK and came across this little book. Thinking it was a novel based on The Hobbit, I bought it without properly looking inside.

When I got it home, I discovered instead of a novel, it was more of a journal. A series of blank pages with pencil drawings of all of the famous (and some not so famous) characters from The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

I filed it away with the rest of my Middle Earth Role-Playing material and have treasured it ever since.

I decided to scan the cover in to see if anyone else has it, and perhaps if I get time over the next few weeks, I'll scan in a few more pages (requests taken of course).

I'm curious to know the origins of such a book, and whether anyone else has come across this unique book.

I used to have something like this. I believe it had a different cover but since i no longer have the journal I'm not certain. Wonderful design, almost a shame to write in it but OTOH such a good slate.

Pretty sure it was an official licensed product.

I was given this as a gift around 15 years ago. Still got it somewhere.
You can shake your fists at the sky. You can do a rain dance. You can ignore the clouds completely. But none of them move the clouds.
