This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I was already interested in the Chained Coffin when it was announced at Gen Con.

About the module:
A whispered voice calls from a coffin bound in chains, urging the heroes into the depths of the Shudder Mountains, a place rife with superstition and forlorn secrets. In the shadowy, pine-grown valleys of the Deep Hollows lurk mysteries of a bygone age and a new evil emerging from the ruins of the past. The adventurers must plumb the mountains' secluded reaches to root out this rising terror before its power comes to fruition. Standing in their path are cackling witches, subtle devils, lingering spirits, and a foul thing that moves in the night.

Inspired by Manley Wade Wellman stories.

The module will now also include a small a mini-gazetteer on the Shudder Mountains regions. If enough funding happens the module, gazetteer, a map, more adventures including a 0-level funnel with new occupations, and other stuff will end up in a boxed set according to the linked podcast interview.

I already use a lot of DCC modules for D&D Next. $30 for the spinning wheel prop, while cool, might have been too much. But if all this other stuff gets funded it would be a mini-campaign for DCC RPG all in one box.

Anyone else think this module and extras sounds interesting?

Bobloblah

Yes. Not least because backing allows you to order the rest of the DCC modules with a discount.

Yeah, I've been hearing good chatter coming out of the playtesting of this module... so I think I'm thinking of jumping on board... though I think $30 bucks is a bit much for a module, I don't give a shit about the foil cover or paper doodad... but will the extra content be in the $10 version? They've yet to reveal.
I dunno... reading through it now I'm kind of annoyed.
I'd like to pay $20, get all the actual content and drop all the flim flam collectible shit.

Bobloblah

Same here. I hadn't seen that the $10 version wouldn't include the extras.

If the stretch goals are hit, $30 for a box set with setting, modules, monsters, magic, a new patron, player handouts, a map, and the wheel seems like a good deal.

Bobloblah

I agree, but I could really do without the collector's version of the module. I'd still be happy to get the wheel prop, I just don't need the silver-foil-embossed-on-human-skin-leather-blah-blah-blah.

I'm just going to wait and buy the pdf.

Heh, I should have taken that Goodman Games offered refund on the Appendix N-Brave Halfling-sinking ship and channeled the money over here. Seems like a better deal... and one that could potentially reach backers.

I would be surprised if Goodman Games doesn't deliver on the module. It is already mostly written anyway.

Oh I'm sure it will. Their track record, past the main DCC book that was pretty delayed if I remember correctly, is good.

Umm... how did I miss that? I've been so annoyed by Brave Halfling - not the worst product I've been foolish enough to Kickstart, but they just keep on persistently doing bad job after bad job...

Goodman Games added in the box with $30 and up pledges since so many backers wanted one. I think this move is really classy. Risky. But classy.
