This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Sword Chronicle RPG was just released by Green Ronin. It's Song of Ice and Fire RPG mechanics without the GOT IP.

I picked up the PDF. On cursory read through, there's some good stuff in here. Nice 3d6 system (I believe it's a roll dice and keep 3...), I like how abilities are done! No real "attributes" but broad abilities that you can then take specialties in.

Combat looks detailed and thorough (impaling, reach, armor absorbs damage, weapon traits). Not sure about taking "injuries" to avoid taking damage. I would have to see it in play.

Sorcery looks cool. Lower magic, darkly darkening the darkness. Some fun stuff to mull over like "the price" required to cast a ritual.

Also, it has a Content Creator Program!!  WOOOT. (if you haven't guessed, I'm a huge fan of CCPs on DTRPG).

There are several monster manuals and other tidbits out for the Sword Chronicle RPG on DTRPG from Green Ronin. Nothing 3PP as of yet.

Anyone played SOIAF RPG yet? Thoughts?

Is there a wiki or SRD?

Have you produced any CCP stuff? If so, pimp it!

If you've bought CCP stuff, start a thread about what you've liked. I've seen the CCP program, but wonder how much value it offers to authors.

One more community content program that preys on hobbyist desires to get published by forbidden use of the contributing  author's original IP outside of the program. Genesys is the only CCP to handle it right by eliminating the no derivative clause.

Hope you're getting a commission because your post just got me to buy it.

Haven't bought anything from DTRPG in quite awhile, but notice there's no visible order info on each page with this. No doubt it's embedded in some form. But great for printing out and marking all over for homebrewing w/o the creepy order info staring at everyone.

Art from pg 8 (and lots of others) looks the same as the xoth publishing art. That's interesting. Gives it more of a Clark Ashton Smith type feel than GoT. Kind of contrasts with the crisp layout.

Also just a quick look shows they did the whole Ancestry/Culture thing vs "Race." Guess that's a "new norm."

Am I mistaken just flipping thru it (just bought it), but is there no map at all? This section contains no map, so the Narrator can customize it as they see fit. Although I understand the reasoning, that's not a positive mark for those of us who are detail minded gearheads.

Schwalb always delivers, so this will be an interesting read. Thanks for the head's up.

I'd like to echo this. I've picked it up as well, stripped of GoT and revised a little, it looks pretty good so far to me.

Green Ronin's Game of Thrones RPG always looked interesting, but I've never played it.

Haven't seen this before: A half-elf/half dwarf:

Quote from: Sword ChronicleWhat about a character with elf and dwarf parents, who grew up around humans? In Sword Chronicle, the answer lies in character qualities, specifically benefits. At character creation, you gain two Ancestry benefits. The Sword Chronicle core rulebook supports dwarf, elf, human, and ogre characters. To indicate ancestry from one of these origins, take one of its corresponding benefits. If you'd like a character to have had all-elf ancestors, you'd choose two elven benefits, but for the example above, you'd choose one elf and one dwarf benefit.
