This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Pierce InveraritySame here. It sounds awesome.

Other than that... Lords of Creation. I don't know for sure that it's good but I'd like to find out.
I have a copy, if I remember right, back at my folks' house.  I can try and dig around next time I visit.  I believe I also have 2 adventureish things for it - the Horn of Roland and Omegakron.

OK, to the sixteen-year-old Pierce, Ringworld was this unattainable treasure, which, after it had made its way across the Atlantic, was accumulating dust in his North European LGS, seeing as it was priced at double or more of US retail. I still remember the box lid image of this weird alien walking through a meadow(?). And the books. They were blue and had this fading Ringworld logo on the cover.

Having said that, wasn't the actual game supposed to suck? Wasn't it incomplete?

I used to own it and while I wish I had it now, I wish I had it so I could sell it.  The game had some cool bits but generally, yes, it sucked.  Part of the reason it sucked is that the size of the Ringworld and the diversity implied presents one with phenomenal Blank Page Paralysis.  Couple that with the usual canon paralysis in games with an existing timeline of events and play was stifled.

I'd add "for us", but clearly the experience was more general given how much play the game gets all around.

The inevitable blog.

I don't get blank page paralysis- I get the other kind. As a GM, I tend to get bored with settings during play, so having a crazy big area really works for me.

I can't really remember how it played; hell we were playing a lot of AD&D 1e back then and Gamma world- we could pretty much muddle through anything.
All in all , though, I may just be suffering from a case of nostolgia

A print copy of Time Lord.

There's ONE on eBay right now, and of course, I'm broke.  It's the first copy I've ever seen for sale.

I shall probably have to make do with setting up a private project on Lulu of the free Internet release, the way I did with the Fallout TRPG.

I jsut can't stand not having an actual book for a game.

Original DC Heroes and Dr Who FASA both of which i owned as a kid and both of which ended up with people who weren't my friends, bastards!

I've owned lots of games over the years, ost of which have ended up being sold on as they never got played and i needed the cash. Too many to think of really.

Most likely,

We tend to put up a suckage filter when we remember games we had fun with,

The local library has a copy of Valiant, so I just pick it up from there, every now and then.
Previously known by the name of "GrimGent".

Balbinus

Crimson Cutlass, which the original designer has the rights to but refuses to sell or put online, he told me he would rather let it expire.

Creeks & Crawdads, which I've been looking for so long now it will almost certainly disappoint me.

Ghostbusters 1st edition, but not revised

LUG original series Star Trek.

PM me if you've got them...

But, but...someone using a game book without buying their own copy is the moral equivalent of theft!

I'm sorry.  That spurious assertion came up again recently and I couldn't ignore it.  In all honesty, I think it's really nice when libraries are thoughtful enough to add RPGs to their circulation. That is certainly one boon in the shift from boxed sets to bound books.
