Inspired by Tommy Brownell's Zombie thread.
What are you planning for the month of October?(Plan now, start then!)
Do you usualy switch to 'mini campaign' for the month of October or just run a one shot the week of Halloween?
What do you have planned this year?
Need help planing? Creative minds at theRPGsite can help!
Enough of the GNS/Swine/StoryGame/RollvsRole junk cluttering up the front page. Lets do something constructive!
As for myself, I've go no group this year, so let me help you torture your. :D
I'm planning a one-off zombie bashing game called Risen. It'll be using a dedicated system designed to ratchet up the tension the longer the game goes on.
Maybe if you're lucky, you'll find the 'Screwdriver - Kills 3' and the 'Syringe - Kills 1' or maybe be able to lock a door, thus lowering the Panic rating by 10 points.
Trick or treating with the little ones! :D
Gaming wise? Hm...hard to say. Maybe U1 The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, or S1 Tomb of Horrors or something for the group that following Sunday (or the previous Sunday, not sure when the biweekly game day falls...)
Most likely UnHallowed Metropolis.
3D version of "The Mask (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0055151/)" at the art center on the 30th, then re-releasing "the Dead (http://prettyfuckingsweet.com/thedead/)" in print on Halloween proper with a 2.0 edit, additional art, and other bits.
there will also of course be the requisite trick-or-treat bash with friends, so there's that.
Dude, its still like two months away.

When I had a regular group, I'd take a break form the normal campaign and start a month long 'mini campaign' for the whole month of October and I've known other GMs who've done the same. So it's more like a month a way if you look at it like that.
Point of the thread was to get ideas going ahead of time. I usualy try to plan something special out for my October games.
I'm also bored. :P

As mentioned on my thread, which is referenced in the beginning of this one, that's what I'm planning...launching into a mini campaign that would end on, or shortly after, Halloween...why stick all the fun into one night? =)
normally i like to do several horror one-shots in october in various games and genres.
however, the primary one this year will be a large adventure for my on going Savage Colonial Gothic game.
the other fun one will be a Savage Evil Dead game. gore, mayhem, shotguns, chainsaws, and a full on deadite riot.

Everyday is Halloween for me.
I got nothing planned so far.
Just my usual routine of lecturing trick-or-treaters about selling out to foreign traditions that only came to us via television.
Gamewise, nothing.

I feel like that about Bank Holiday.

But you look so absurd, you look so obscene!
I'm contemplating putting together a Cthulhu Live game. The rules look really neat, and have some good guides to making monsters/tentacles and such.
I certainly have nothing planned, but I'm sure my Halloween-loving wife will trap me into doing something.
If there was a Scrooge for Halloween, it would be me. BAH! HUMBUG!
Well, it's my wedding anniversary so I will be giving my wife her gift. I will also be conducting a religious ceremony to celebrate the dead.
