Challenge accepted. A long time ago I used to buy Bacardi Ciclon which is a blend of rum and tequila. I'm sure this would be a good base for a drink with lime and I dunno... Chilis or something. :D

Why not mezcal? All the cool kids are doing it.

The Maztica
1oz dark rum (Zacapa is awesome but Bacardi Gold or even Appleton Estate will do in a pinch)
1oz mezcal (I swear by Meteoro but I'm not big on mezcal. Fiendishly hard to get around here)
.5oz lime juice
Pour into a highball glass with ice. Top with tomato juice, add a dash of hot sauce and stir. Garnish with a red chile and a skewered, grilled chicken heart.

Never had 'em raw. Can't recommend. But grilled chicken hearts are a Brazilian BBQ classic. In fact, I could really go for a few right now...

When the Sun doesn't rise and the Tzitzimime come, I'll blame you guys for drinking Aztec drinks without the proper amount of blood. :D

I didn't hold a gun to their head, but I sure as hell thought about it.:) It was more like I begged, pleaded, argued, explained and held a mirror up to their face.  Quite obviously, they didn't listen, so I had no power to "demand" anything. It was kinda like the election.

Glad to see some fellow rum drinkers here, that is virtually all I drink.

I've been drinking Captain Morgan's Fire Ball, mixed with Gingerale and a wedge of lime.  Also, any spiced, dark rum (Kraken), about 3 shots, mixed with an ice cold Corona with lime.

And you what we do to witches!!
I'm pretty sure that the thing I'm thinking about isn't what a good Puritan should be thinking:p. Of course, I'm not Puritan (or any other Protestant denomination, for that matter).
Furthermore, I'm sure it's not something I'd enjoy doing to Bluddworth:D! So no, I'd skip...

QuoteMaztica should be a rum drink.
Well, not rum, but it is a regular drink here - at least if you read "Maztica" in Spanish.

QuoteThe pro-REH faction will declare "its okay to like problematic things" and the anti-REH faction will pee their pants.
No, the pro-REH faction will tell them the polite variant of "fuck off".

QuoteSame as GURPS and HERO system.

Traveller's 2D6 system has these issues as well (to a lesser extent).

But fans of 2D6 and 3D6 systems feel the "lot of rolls at peak" is a feature, not a bug because of the "swinginess" of D20.
Yes, we sure do;).

Quote from: CRKrueger;940286Why are so many people lately bucking for Sommerjon's job? ;)
...careful there:).

Quote from: Madprofessor;940413I did pray and beg for a multi-system approach.  It is something that Modiphius had done before.  I didn't feel like there was any crime in expressing my criticisms of the 2d20 system, nor in asking for a solution for those who liked the IP but could not enjoy the board gamey narrative point economy that is intrinsic to the mechanics.  I also felt strongly enough about the IP to point out in detail to the designers how those mechanics misrepresent Howard's work.

...so yeah, it was me.
Yeah, I remember that thread. I'm afraid I might have mistaken you for CRK, though. Yes, I know you're not nearly as green, the mistake is on me:)!
I hope you'd both forgive me the mistake. (Otherwise, I'd have to learn to live with it).
Now let's drop that tangent, if that's fine with you;)?

Hmm... I do happen to work beside a liquor store and tomorrow is my birthday and I know there will be rum. In reality I'd probably buy a bottle of rum and a jar of pickled jalepenos. Man, if I did that in the morning with rum and coffee because I know drinking coffee after eating a jalepeno is awesome. Coffee can be Maztican, right?

Oh and I draw the line at drinks that have anything on a stick. I'm even sketchy about watering it down with ice. :D

That stuff looks neat. It translates to Mastic Cave. Apparently it's this stuff here. The name is pretty close, but if you're going to go with an anise based liquor, this might be a better candidate. :) And it has rum.

Literally yes, but it translates to "Alcoholic beverage from the city of Peshtera". Peshtera means "Cave", yes, but since it's a city name, only machine translators actually translate it:).

And if I go with fermented honey, as in your link, I'd rather skip the anise and order some real mead instead;)!

Needs to be 151 proof rum so we can light that sunzabitch pepper-encrusted, grilled heart on a cocktail skewer on fire.

I also recommend either cacao nubs or unsweetened chocolate to really stay true to the Aztecan aesthetic. chocolatl needs chili peppers, less agave nectar or honey!

and then the bartenders have to blow those skull whistles in tandem, so it sounds like screaming skulls from hell! so metal...

You know, people keep comparing non-TSR D&D to deck-building in Magic: the Gathering. But maybe it\'s more like Katamari Damacy. You keep sticking shit on your characters until they are big enough to be a star.
