Title: Green Ronin to make Shannara Chronicles RPG

Much like the One Ring, the Shannara Chronicles RPG will focus on one era, the Elfstones of Shannara and expand from there. Will Wheaton will play the game on his new Tabletop RPG.

What do you think? Will Shannara translate into a great RPG?

Isn't there a TV show version due out on MTV?

I wouldn't be shocked if someone actually licensed it. I'd guess Margaret Weis - she licenses all sorts of crap.

No, she licenses pretty decent IP (Marvel, Firefly) actually. Sadly she then saddles it with the worlds shittiest shit shit mechanic to ever be conceived...

It's a shame because Shannara probably would translate to a decent RPG, if a bit of a generic one. I'd be tempted to go for a mix of Labyrinth Lord and Mutant Future, with more Mutant Future the closer you get to the present day and more Labyrinth Lord the deeper you get into the later timeline.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing Shannara using Runequest 6. I think that system could be used to make the magic work.
