This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

What is your favorite giant robots/mecha game. What does it do right? What does it do wrong?

What would you look for in a new mecha rpg?

I simply adore Mekton II (With the Advanced Technical Manual) and later Mekton Zeta. I really wish I could find something as robust but simpler. I used Big Eyes
Small Mouth for a lot of different campaigns, but nothing ever stuck like the Mekton games. I've played many different mecha games--including Battletech/Mechwarrior, Heavy Gear/Jovian Chronicles, and tested a few people put up on the net.

I'd love to try "Mecha!"

The most original setting was actually for an war-game with light RP elements called Mecha, ages ago which had brightly colored Aztec themed units with terrible weapons and IIRC singularity engines and weapons. Awesome, concept.

My own mecha game is going to be card powered and simple, with several settings when I get around to it. Primarily the first setting and basic version of the game will be Vast Frontiers--gunslinging mechs, fighting in the lawlessness of the vast frontiers of space. Still needs a lot of work.

I rarely play with giant robots, but when I do I prefer Heavy Gear.

Stay gaming, my friends.

For you the day you found a minor error in a Post by Spike and forced him to admit it, it was the greatest day of your internet life.  For me it was... Tuesday.

For the curious: Apparently, in person, I sound exactly like the Youtube Character The Nostalgia Critic.   I have no words.
