This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Maese Mateo;887858I think (not 100% sure) Mr. Crawford said he'll send a beta of the Deluxe Edition to backers when the KS ends. So luckily it wont be long before we have the full book in our nerdy greedy little hands.
Indeed so. I'm doing a rough polish on the godwalker divine components list even now, and the whole thing will be dumped in a folder for backers early Thursday morning EST when the campaign closes.
Other Dust, a standalone post-apocalyptic companion game to Stars Without Number.
Stars Without Number, a free retro-inspired sci-fi game of interstellar adventure.
Red Tide, a Labyrinth Lord-compatible sandbox toolkit and campaign setting

Glad to hear this. I've been looking forward to the full rules for a while.

Can we show the whole rules to our friends?

The 100 USD pledge specifically allows you to do that.

Congrats at reaching 40K Sine Nomine.

Barely one day left and over 40k. Wow. When the Kickstarter first began I figured it would top 30k, but this one has done an amazing job of growing throughout the normally quiet period between the opening and closing rushes. A lot of Kickstarters I've followed often go dormant for a solid two weeks, but Godbound just kept steadily growing . . .

I can't wait to see the finished product, much less what the future holds in store for the line.

It's no surprise considering that the game has had a very active discussion on this forum, the G+ Community and RPG.net. The thread over RPG.net is over a 100 pages.

Yeah, I've been following the RPG.net thread this past month. But when things first got rolling it wasn't entirely clear just how many people were going to get on board and how many were going to be kept away by the letters "OSR." Even in that thread, you see a lot people saying in the early posts that they were hesitant to back just because of the game's old-school roots.

Well, OSR has a reputation for highly lethal games, and people that didn't reach the damage system assumed we'd have a lot more gods being slain by monsters than the rules actually allow;).

I don't even particularly need a demigods-style game, and I've ponied up some money for it yesterday to get in on the kickstarter. Damn Kevin and his magic charms.
Obvious troll is obvious. RIP, Bill.

I, in fact, remember that exact conversation coming up on the RPG.net boards. Someone who backed, then unbacked, 'cuz he assumed that Godbound would be constantly oneshot.

That went on for a couple pages as I recall.

All done! Yay!

Kevin's calm response to that (which amounted to, "Cool, I understand it's not for some people, here's where you'll find the systemless parts you might like anyway, I suggest you rip them out of the free version and use them as you see fit.") was a large part of what convinced me to back.

Subsequently, others pointed out that flaws in this person's thinking and, as I recall, they ended up getting on board again.

In other news, the deluxe beta is now available to backers.

It actually happened in this thread as well:).
