Title: Gen Con Online seems lame
Post by: Dracones on July 10, 2022, 01:06:02 PM
Last year when Gen Con went online only it was a nice opportunity to try out some different systems I hadn't really had the chance to play before. So I was really looking forward to it this year to get into some new systems or play some old ones I haven't touched in awhile. But man, the selection seems piss poor. Only 1 GURPS session, no Shadowrun, no Savage Worlds, no Shadow of the Demon Lord, zero OSR games aside from DCC. Last year I believe they had a couple Champion games, this year there's nothing for Hero System/Champions. It's kind of shocking considering how much of an industry event I'm used to Gen Con being.

Are people just all going in person this year, is there another online Con everyone prefers instead, or is Gen Con just sort of fizzling out?

To be fair, Gencon in person is now also lame.  Way too woke while keeping the unshowered fatbeards...

Pretty sure the majority of people are attending in person this year.  I know a number of companies I follow are going.

GenCon went woke and a lot of gamers lost interest, because why give money to people who hate you?

Only went for the Dealer's room and Auction.  Now I can get most of that online, why bother going?

GenCon has been lame for a long time, in my opinion.
