This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Gamma World: Some questions...

Hi folks!

I have some questions:

What are your thoughts about and experiences with the new Gamma World?

Is it easy to run at game cons?

Where can i get a digital version of the offical Gamma World character sheet?
(It seems ridiculous that WotC didn't pack it on their website, it seems)

@Halfjack: Is the index really that horrible?
@Benoist: What are the cards measurements (in mm)? I'd like to know what sleeves i should buy if i'd buy the box.

(I'm asking this because i was thinking about getting a post-apo gonzo system since the time they announced the new GW.)

My character sheet was inexistant, and when I hastly made one the GM didn\'t care to have a look at it."

Check Gamma Whirl for my thoughts about the game as I read through it.

I haven't played the game yet, but I'm really loving it. It's simple (simpler than D&D Essentials - all the rules, GM how to and all in 160 digest-sized pages, basically), it's old school in some respects (how you roll for your origins, roll 3d6 in order for your other stats, the sketchy world subject to interpretation, the game for the heck of it, if your character dies, roll a new one, and so on) and modern in other respects (the most obvious being the cards, which I wouldn't call "new school" either, because that's hardly nothing 'new' per se).

It's a self-contained game, and it's very much "open the box, check out the rules, and play right away," which is really something I want to see more in RPGs these days.

I can't imagine it being a problem at all. As a matter of fact, it might be real fun. You've got all the stuff you need, tokens, cards etc to run the game in a store or wherever.

Weem's sheet isn't official, but it's clean, and well done.

It is bad. 62 entries total, and it doesn't even fill one single page. The good thing, however, is that the book is relatively thin, with a different color scheme for each chapter, so you might get used to what is where pretty quick.

6,3 x 8,7 cm, or if you prefer, 2.5 x 3.5 inches. They look like standard MtG cards to me.

If that's what you're looking for, I think it might work for you, for sure.

Yes, i already did. Basically that's why this thread exists.
;)
I think i'll get it. Along with some boosters to maybe play some "Gamma World Booster Draft" someday at a con. xD

I downloaded it off their site last week. It's here: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/GammaWorldCS.zip

Welcome. I think they have some other Gamma World content, but you probably have to have a DDI account to get to it. Monsters and such, if I recall.

I'm actually giving a try to DDI right now, but I find the site to be utterly confusing, as far as organization is concerned. :(

If you join now, just for a month, you can download the Character Builder and Monster Builder and all the past Dungeon and Dragon issues in PDF format.

They also had this article today about the Nerath setting which, at first glance, seemed neat.

Yeah, I got the Character Builder and Adventure Tools, downloaded a bunch of Dungeon/Dragon mags already. Haven't checked the article on Nerath yet.
