This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: PseudoephedrineI'd like a little folding box that you could roll dice in so they don't go off the table. It'd have to be folding so you could pack it with you when you went to and from the game. Shoeboxes can be too bulky to carry around.

Such a thing is already being made.

Its made out of clear  light plastic or lucite and its called a "Dice Boot" , because it looks  kind of like a boot when put together.  It folds together and snaps tight, also tears apart the same way and is re-usable.

Unfortunately the game store that I work at just sold out of the one we had or I could tell you the manufacturer. The package art even showed twenbty sided dice being used with it and the other dice in the pictures were all the other strange dice that gamers use.

It IS meant to be portable.

Nifty. I'm gonna have to look around. Thanks for passing me the name. It drives us nuts to play Samurai Swords because someone always chucks the dice and knocks everything over.

Thanks to Reaper, I may have to go back on my "never use minis" rule. If D&D minis were not collectable, I might have bought them.

I heard about this and I'm very excited about them!

My rules and comments about good GMing:
  • Improvise as much as you can
  • A character sheet is a list of items that tell you what the story should be about
  • As a GM, say "maybe" and ask your players to justify a "yes"
  • Immersion isn\'t a dirty word.
  • Collectively, players are smarter than you and will think of things you never considered.
