This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Games that you've always been interested to try, but never managed to do so?

Please notice that I'm not talking about games you've recently heard of. I'm talking about games you've known for years.

For me, it's Blue Planet, Babylon 5 d20, Continuum, Battletech, and Castle Falkenstein. Blue Planet is particularly painful, because I actually own the two core books.

What about you?

Well, I have enough 7th Sea stuff to make a game happen, but...I...haven't.

I make a really serious effort to play at least a gratuitous intro scenario with every game I ever pick up. But I never played Tank Girl. It chafes, I tell ya.
Employment Counselor: So what do you like to do outside of work?
Oblivious Gamer: I like to play games: wargames, role-playing games.
EC: My cousin killed himself because of role-playing games.
OG: Jesus, what was he playing? Rifts?

I always wanted to run Engel d20, no matter how badly the d20 conversion was done. I was never able to drum up a lot of support, because only one of my fellow players was interested in the setting.

There are a couple of anime settings I always wanted to play in; Tenchi Muyo! and Revolutionary Girl Utena seemed like they'd be interesting games, but the first wasn't widely supported in my play group and the second seemed a poor fit for the BESM rules. (I would have given it a go, anyhow, but other games took priority.)

There are a few others (Exalted: Fair Folk - too bizarre, Kindred of the East - too exoticized, narrow fan base). I've got a little checklist in my head of games I want to play and run. I've recently been able to cross Burning Wheel off it, but I've got a ton of others. Conflicting schedules really put the hurt on my gaming.
God in the Machine.

Here's my website. It's defunct, but there's gaming stuff on it. Much of it's missing. Sorry.

I've got a blog. Do you read other people's blogs? I dunno. You can say hi if you want, though, I don't mind company. It's not all gaming, though; you run the risk of running into my RL shit.

I've always wanted to play in a White Wolf game, particularly mortals, Mage or Changeling, but never been able to get in nor form a group that wanted to play.

I was looking forward to playing Qin at the last Chicago Gameday but the GM cancelled the day before the event.

I've come to the conclusion that if I want to play Tekumel, I'll need to run Tekumel -- preferably for folks who have no idea what Tekumel is.  It's not that I don't want to but I don't care for the GoO rules and porting a game has never been my bag.

Blue Planet how I long for you.  And Twilight 2000.  That's just the start...

J, the friend mentioned sig-wise around here, could fill this thread with his laments. I think I've gotten to play at least a couple sessions of everything I've wanted to that's old enough to qualify (still no Reign play, sadly).
Heroism is no more than a chapter in a tale of submission.

I've always wanted to play Ringworld. It's one of the few liscensed setting that holds any interest for me.
You are posting in a troll thread.

Blue Planet for me too.  I want to run Driftwood...a futuristic version of the HBO show: Deadwood.

TORG

I read the three paperback books that were released at the same time as the original game and I always wanted to Play TORG or Reff it . When it originally came out - I didn't have enough money and no regular group of gamer friends at the time.
Then it mostly went out of print.

I LOVE the idea and setting. These days if I found a decent copy of the main book at Half-price books opr someplace I might try to run it with GURPS rules.

Bear in mind that West End Games can hook you up with Torg products here.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

Ringworld is an awsome game, Aos! Drop on over some time and we'll play it.

For me it's The Dying Earth - My players have no interest...
