This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Games that don't exist (and shouldn't)

Cohen-oscopy (d20): A new rpg experiment that unites the themes and music of Leonard Cohen with the d20 system. Its scene framing technique is innovative yet simple, using a standard CD player with the random option and either Mr. Cohen's full catalog or his greatest hits compilation. What existential angst will your player's encounter? Let Leonard Cohen decide!

So does this mean there's no forthcoming Jazz Police expansion for Terror Network?

I am certainly not closing the door on the idea.

Quote from: BedrockBrendan;540407Rocky The RPG: Where each adventure creates the feel of a film in the Rocky Series- complete with aptly named antagonists and domestic complications. Each player gets to take on the role of one character from the movies: Adrian, Paulie, Rocky, and even Tony Gazzo. Introduces the Montage Mechanic and boxing combat rules for maximum Rocky Flavor.

What about Bullwinkle, Natasha, and Boris? Fearless Leader? Wrongway Peachfuzz?

Rocky the RPG is serious game that forces its players to handle the deeply philosophical themes of the series. Including characters from a morning cartoon show that happens to have a similar name would not only be incoherent, but would violate our licensing agreement with Mr. Stallone.

You had me at incoherent...

Wampus Country - Whimsical tales on the fantasy frontier

"Describing Erik Jensen\'s Wampus Country setting is difficult"  -- Grognardia

"Well worth reading."  -- Steve Winter

"...seriously nifty stuff..." -- Bruce Baugh

"[Erik is] the Carrot-Top of role-playing games." -- Jared Sorensen, who probably meant it as an insult, but screw that guy.

"Next con I\'m playing in Wampus."  -- Harley Stroh

Forum: The Banning

Gain XP points for the amount of reports you submit against other people.  Bonus XP for trolling.  People with more XP have their opinions count more than people with low XP as defined by the "protected long time poster" feat, and therefore get 1d6 free passes (x2 if the poster and moderators are fanboys of the same version of a game).

x2 XP accumulation if you create cross-board drama, with an additional +500 XP for invoking Hypocrisy of Pelor.  Such qualifying phrases include talking about people on another forum while at the same time saying you don't care about people from another forum.

Once you achieve epic levels (aka: becoming a MOD), you will lose 1d6 XP per day for your first year unless you warn or ban the same number of people that you would lose XP for per day.

Chargen is easy.  If you get banned, just create a sock puppet and start over at level 1*.

*warning: this is only for the hardcore gamer, as there is risk involved and you could very well lose the game permanently (getting IP banned).  If you lose the game permanently, you might as well kill yo self.

** And for the record, I am not singling out any particular forum, but the trend of most gamer forums.  So you can stop with your accusations and save yourself some time. ;)
D&D is not an "everyone gets a ribbon" game.  If you\'re stupid, your PC will die.  If you\'re an asshole, your PC will die (probably from the other PCs).  If you\'re unlucky, your PC may die.  Point?  PC\'s die.  Get over it and roll up a new one.

heh!  Rocky and Bulwinkle staring Sylvester Stallone could be a brilliant buddy comedy.

Quote from: Bloody Stupid Johnson;540538TaxMaster: build a character from one of 27 Tax Agent subclasses, each with detailed skill category modifiers in many exciting skills such as Spot Deduction, Offshore Funds, Primary Production Discount, Its A Business Expense, Find Loophole, and Friends In The IRS!  LARP through assisting the GM with their income tax, then file your character sheet away for several months  before earning XP equal to the GMs total refund!
Uses a novel additive d1000 mechanic where your total modifier is reduced as you go up each results bracket.

Somehow I get the feeling I've played this game before....
