Truthfully, there isn't as much for me to rant about this time.  This print is being previewed and actually looks much more competent than the original $50 one (which isn't meant to be damning with faint praise).  It's only $10, so it's much less outright begging for money than the original Bob Larsonesque call to the flock.

Of course, now Palladiumbooks is actually going to charge you to own the rights to your name.  I wonder if people who later become disenamored of the company will be given cease and desist orders for using their own names?  It's nothing new though.  This kind of thing is regularly offerred as a reward to loyal bootlickers on the official PB forums.

Be ready for the sales of this print to be used as an excuse why some upcoming book got delayed.  Come to think of it, could someone point me to a murmur where KS actually talks about doing some writing, editing, or anything regarding the company's RPGs?

Winning the ability to lose the rights to my name sounds like an ass-tastic prize to me.  Another, less hamhanded company would figure out a way to make it work so that the winner only need agree to a limited license of their name.

Hey for some folks, getting their name in a Palladium book is a dream come true.  I sure wouldn't mind it.  If it isn't your speed, so what?  Hell, it isn't like selling a print that's already been printed and putting your name in a book is taking away from valuable resource time they could be writing.  In fact, it's writing for a future title, look at it that way. :heh: It's a little promotion that won't cost fans much, gets them a print they've been asking for anyway, and might make some of them really happy.  

As for your "regularly offered" comment, aside from the "Thank You" list of all donors that will be published in a future work, I can't think of anything else like this that's been offered by Palladium.

The forums are down now, but I'd be happy to show you plenty of murmurs where he discusses actually writing stuff.  But keep in mind there is also a host of freelancers who write many of Palladium's products nowadays.

EDIT:  Here's a murmur in which Kevin works on errata, here's one where he talks about working on a ton of books (albeit being behind), rewriting and editing on Madhaven (now out), approving proof copies here...I understand being frustrated by the sometime apparent snail's pace at things.  But that doesn't mean they aren't working--they just have a lot to work on.
