This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I know there are more than a few of you who play YotZ Campaigns.

Who out there are running any YotZ Campaigns right now?

Hey RangerJim,
(a) Welcome to the forum
(b) I'm a fan of the system, but I have had enough of a time trying to keep my ongoing Savage Worlds game on track without dipping into a new campaign.

There are a couple of reviews written on YOTZ, as well an interview with Tim Willard which you probably noticed on the way in.

Why don't you start a Play by Post game? I'd be happy to drop in and game, and I'm sure that a few other people here would too.

I did notice those, great job.

I have been toying with the idea of starting an online game using Battlegrounds but I am not quite ready for that yet.

I am enjoying my every other week YotZ game now.  I keep getting more players wanting to join. We have grown from 3 to 6 and I think I have to cap it off... but my players keep telling their friends about the game and then they want to play too. I may have to start another campaign on the alternate weeks.

My game is structured as follows:

The characters they play are themselves...

Each player made a character that was as close to themselves in stats and skills as reasonably possible. They make character decisions and actions as themselves, no real need to role play here, and no need to ROLL UP a character. What would YOU do? What decisions would YOU make? Could YOU survive?

This may sound dull and boring at first read - after all, role players want to play heroic, greater than life characters - but this is only the start of things. You can be heroic (maybe), you can be greater than life - if you can survive that is.

The setting for this campaign is initially in our local area - The Vacaville/Sacramento Area - and will eventually lead to almost anywhere. This will allow you to take advantage of your personal knowledge of our surroundings.

This campaign is heavy on Combat and running away. One warning - this game is not for the squeamish.

Thanks,
