This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Sweet prizes, clash!  I hope we get a lot fo coverage for this, and get a lot of entries from folks from lots of different forums (including this one, obviously)!

FtA's format should be pretty straightforward.  Fellas, I would reccommend once our judges are in place to make one entry thread for submission/rules only, and one for commentary, stickied.

And the disclaimer:  I'm involved only so far as theRPGsite is concerned.  The reason I can't be more involved is the whole game designer conflict o' interest bit with the ENnies.

And I'd still like to see Doc Rot and Jeff do entries, even if they aren't valid for the contest.

So what, 2, 3 weeks time frame?  Winners announced at the end of the month?

  • "Rocks fall, you die."
  • "I'm sorry, guys, I lost all your character sheets. We have to start again, roll up new characters."
  • "The dog ate my rulebook, we have to convert the characters to Harnmaster.
  • "Was the game on tonight? I thought we changed it because Bob couldn't make it."
  • "I can't game tonight. Didn't you get my email? Yes, the one I sent fifteen minutes before game start."
  • "My parents/wife/husband won't let me game anymore."
  • "I've been reading all this roleplaying theory online and I have a great new idea about how we can all become more protagonised."
  • "I have this awesome FATAL/Rifts conversion I'd like to try."
  • "Okay, everyone, your characters wake up naked in a room with no windows and no doors and can't remember how they got there or who they are. What do you do?"
  • "I've decided that if you want your character to seduce the barmaid, you can't just roll for it we have to roleplay it. In detail."

Well, I think they're going to have to put up the rules from the book in the stickied thread here, so that folks know what do.

Think d6s.

Yes... or they could, you know BUY a copy of FtA! (to purchase it, go to the page linked on my sig)

RPGPundit

PS: But yes, the most basic thing is that FtA! uses D6s and ONLY D6s (or d3s). Knowing that will be enough for people to be able to enter the contest, but obviously tables that actually incorporate the other rules of the game will end up being more strongly considered for the prizes.

This all sounds good. The one thing we still need is someone/someones (judge or non-judge) to volunteer to publicize this contest on all the other major forums (Including the Wizards forums, ENWorld, rpgnet, dragonsfoot, and any other forum where there might be people who'd be interested in joining theRPGsite, or in FtA! as a game).

Ok, so, any volunteers to do the "marketing" side of this? To post in other forums advertising the contest?

I love charts and tables!  I'm excited to see what others come up with!  I hope there's a lot of participation!  I'll post a link on my blog for the contest--hope some other folks decide to do likewise, in addition to the "regular sites" it's going to.

I haven't had a chance to ready FtA! yet (I hope to this week/end sometime), but can I call dibs on the Table to Determine Which Table to Roll On? :)
