If you're dead-set on not engaging with a game's basic premise (e.g. dismissing a fantasy heartbreaker as "groggy bullshit"), I don't think reviewing it will add anything to the hobby. Granted, I'm not much of a reviewer (I have maybe a dozen reviews to my name between here and RPGnet) but I would never, ever review Maid or Grey Ranks because the "elevator pitch" -- the distilled essential premise of these games -- is an immediate non-sale for me.

Thing read like a personal attack, rather than a review. Maybe Pundit should send out a mean tweet, using the word "very" 7 times (while throwing in "disaster," "horrible," and "many, many, many").:-)

Certainly one shouldn't generally review something in a genre or style you have no appreciation for but to say one shouldn't review something you don't like is too broad. Many a classic essay has been a nuanced dissembling of an overrated piece of art or a hilarious takedown. All kinds of arts criticism have value.
