It's pretty slick, but a little too dark for me.

Interestingly, Bill, I was looking at Nebuleon last night, for no good reason -- so the current edition's cover is fresh in my mind.

I'm with Brett.  This one is too dark, and while I REALLY like the title font, and the general layout, I'm not crazy about the art.  It doesn't say "U CAN PLAYS SPACEMANS" like the other one does.

Buuuuuuuuut I wear a pink tie.

I also think it may be better with a reversed image, so that the green alien is on the front and the yellow-shirt is on the back. Without seeing it like that, of course, I can't be sure.

Honest oppinion:

1) LOVE the layout

2) Not crazy about the new art. Personally I liked the 1e cover art better.

Well, I thought I would give that art a try. Several folks on other forums are saying the same thing. So, I have a call out to some of my usual artists. The concepts I sent to them:

Concept 1: The Traveler cover

The above is a cover I have always liked for traveler. I would jazz it up a bit with putting a Gren or Balek in it, and have them firing beam weapons.

Concept 2: The Party
Standing on a ridge, with a burning colony behind them, a party stands ready to defend those behind them. Guns ready or guns blazing.

Concept 3: The Dremin
A Dremin (3m tall lizard man) with an exotic looking axe is bearing down on a human in tattered armor blasting away with his assault rifle. We might want to have some sort of out of frame action going on here.

Concept 4: The Fight
Capture the feeling of the Marines in Aliens. Like so:

So, any other suggestions?

I like Concept 4 but with a Dremin or some other xeno in with the human party.

I like the spooked "anything could be around the next corner" expressions/feel of that scene.

Yeah, Bill, #4 fits Neb best IMO.

I think it should come packaged with a sammich.

SERIOUSLY, THOUGH:  Yeah, I think a more SF-looking cover would be more appealing, myself.

On a side note: I just got Jeremy McHugh! He is a dude and did some work on Shades of Earth and Roma Imperious for us.

Oh, BBTW, I should have the first printing of Roma True20 by the end of the week! WOOOHOOO!! By the gods, this has been a battle...and it isn't over yet.

Looks pretty good, however the picture is a bit dark to me.

But the art does look very good

Work as it proceeds with Jeremy...Yeah, I need to change the colors somewhat but the basic idea is here. Also, this is part way and the Thri-t'kree and human will be colored in the final.

Now THAT is a cover that screams "I am Sci Fi action adventure, you know you want to play me!"

That or "If you don't buy me, THIS will happen to you." :haw:
