This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Quote from: Dr Rotwang!Hivers, from the Official Traveller Universe.  They're charmingly weird.

Close second wouldbe the K'Kree, also from Trav, because they're the snooty, smelly bastards that you love to hate.  I wonder if they taste good...
Exactly my picks, Doctor. I still have those issues of JTAS.

From Alternity, I've always been partial to the Weren. There was a neat article about them in Dragon that really made them even more interesting. Anyway, I like the Weren for the same reason I like Kzinti - tough, battle-driven, and all-around cool warrior race.

4e definitely has an Old School feel. If you disagree, cool. I won\'t throw any hyperbole out to prove the point.

Dominus Nox

Kafer again, the idea of a race that responds to fear, hunger or danger by getting smarter, and has a society in which the intelligent rule, is just too damn attractive to me.

I also like the Hivers from traveller, which I think no one has mentioned yet.

The kzinti, if portrayed as having their sense of honor and culture, are more than just snarling "beastmen' and worth respecting.
RPGPundit is a fucking fascist asshole and a hypocritial megadouche.

Kobolds. Sometimes the alien is what lives up in the hills.
Any one who thinks he knows America has never been to America.

I'm partial to Sesheyans myself (from Alternity). Here's a sketch of the Sesheyan I played a while back (his name was Gloam):

I too, like Dralasites. Here's a sketch of a pregen PC I made for a Star Frontiers one-shot I ran (named Pholox):

I want to say Z'Bri, but alas, even though they're so alien, they're not really aliens.

So, Hivers.

Balbinus

Anything from 2300AD, the home of interesting aliens.

Hivers and K'Kree.

There is a lot of agreement in this thread it seems.

Aegypto

The Fungi from Yuggoth, hands down.

I also rather like the Aborigines in Blue Planet - a great example of sentient aliens who manage to be somewhat plausible, integrated in their own ecology and not being anything like humans.

In the category of people in funny suits, I have a soft spot for Sullustans.

I liked them quite a bit too, just a really neat species that was pleasantly further away from being human than most aliens are.

Oh man, how could I forget the Sathars?! 'Bout as good a bad guy alien race as you could get!

(from the same one-shot as the Dralasite sketch, here's a drarwring I did of a Sathar [sorry for showing off])
