This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

Favourite game you've never played...

Okay, so which game did you buy and never actually get around to playing?

What was the reason?

For me it's The Adventures of Luther Arkwright. Loved the graphic novel, really fancied the idea of travelling between parallel earths. Got the rules, couldn't enthuse my players and found it really hard to get my head around at the time.

dar

James Bond 007. Never got around to it. Loved all the stuff in the adventures.

REIGN. Got the book recently but the opportunity to play or run hasn't come up yet - I'm in too many other games already (although at least one is winding down). I really want to see how the Company rules work in play, so I'll definitely try to start a campaign once there's space in my schedule.
I am no longer posting here or reading this forum because Pundit has regularly claimed credit for keeping this community active. I am sick of his bullshit for reasons I explain here and I don\'t want to contribute to anything he considers to be a personal success on his part.

I recommend The RPG Pub as a friendly place where RPGs can be discussed and where the guiding principles of moderation are "be kind to each other" and "no politics". It\'s pretty chill so far.

One Horse Town

Mutants & Masterminds. I wouldn't mind some superhero goodness, but no one in my group has the slightest interest.

I might be running this online soon... FGII
Download Secret Santicore! (10MB). I painted the cover :)

Everway.

It's among my top favorites - Castle Falkenstein, Amber, Everway and Nobilis. I own two sets. One of the mandates of my group is to try a number of different games. And yet...and yet...

I'm down with the premise and the setting; the system leaves me a bit cold, though. Funky dice mechanics.

Amber. I love the setting, and the ideas behind the game, but diceless just wouldn't cut it with my group. Partly because it puts way too much work into my lazy lap.

KenHR

A tie between Aftermath! and HarnMaster.

I love clunky and complicated games (HarnMaster doesn't look clunky at all, actually, just complex), but no one I play with does.
For fuck\'s sake, these are games, people.

And no one gives a fuck about your ignore list.

Hollow Earth Exped--

No, wait, I ran a quick scene with my wife.  Technically, I have played it.

Okay, okay okay, uh...Encounter Cri--

No, that was free.

I dunno, Broadsword and Star Legion?  They look like fun but I just haven't thrown 'em down yet.  Not from lack of interest, just serendipity.

Ars Magica. Hoping I can get the guys to try it this winter, but I fear it may be too complex.

Its a tie for me between Serenity and SAVAGE WORLDS. I own the core books for both of them, even bought the GM screen and an adventure for SERENITY - still have yet to ref or play it.

SAVAGE WORLDS I was kind of talked into buying  by a co-worker....but I do LIKE some things about it. It reminds me of GURPS at times and I love to try it.

Blackleaf

Mage -- 1st edition.  The setting was great, when I saw "The Matrix" the first half of the film reminded me of Mage.  Unfortunately I think it was the *worst* of all the WW books in terms of playability -- at least for our group.

Pseudoephedrine

Burning Empires. Still haven't gotten a game of it going.
