This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

yeah Legion of Myth is cool. I should have remembered to put them on my list. Their coverage of Rifts is *superb*.

Any OSR YouTuber who keeps it short and sweet?

AKA, under 10 minutes?

Me, my videos are usually 5 minutes or less.
It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.

I think Dungeon Craft fits that - usually around 8 minutes https://www.youtube.com/@DUNGEONCRAFT1
If he counts as OSR, & I think of him as at least OSR adjacent, his Deathbringer RPG is pretty squarely OSR.

Personally I like Owen Edwards and the Page 121 guy, along with Joe Bloch, Dungeon Delver,  the Grumpy Old Grognard and DD.

Questing Beast is a sniveling little crap weasel.

He was okay until I learned about paid reviews.

And takes down positive reviews at the instigation of the Twitter mob.  But he's also just so smug.

Which review did he take down?

There is no one I watch regularly.  The information contained in a typical video I could read in an article in 1/10 of the time or less.  I need to be really interested in the topic to put up with the delay.

I'm with this guy. I read.

I'm old enough to remember the horror of being at someone's house and having them drag out the projector to show their home movies. For me, watching Youtube is on a par with that. Humans didn't suddenly evolve into filmmakers. I can't watch.

ACKS.  Others like the Gaming Gang guy virtue signaled that they hated Macris' political stances (apparently working with that Milo guy who's no longer relevant), but admitted that ACKS was a solid game not infused with the creator's political views.  But pathetic little whiny Ben just took his down after being mobbed for not inherently hating the game.

Hey, Ben here. Just heard about this discussion. It's perfectly fine if you don't like me, but what's not fine is inventing things I've done out of thin air.

1. I don't know who the Gaming Gang is.

2. No one ever mobbed me about ACKS.

3. I didn't take down the ACKS video because...

4. I never made a video about ACKS. I don't own it and have never read it.

5. What the hell is wrong with you?

Welcome Ben, and thank you for stopping by to discuss the accusation! This is pretty interesting information, which makes me wonder where the notion originated. It's not the first time I've heard it on these boards, so possible the poster in this thread is repeating hearsay.
Old School? Back in my day we just called it "School."

Maybe the Jason Hobbs review?  He took it down twice as I recall.

I've made about four or five videos that were paid for to help promote someone's Kickstarter. In each of those cases, I clearly state that the video is sponsored at the beginning, so it's not like it's some sort of secret. However, I only make one of those videos if I like the product already. I turn down kickstarter promotions all the time because I don't like the product.

The rest of my reviews (of which I've made hundreds) are not sponsored by the product's authors.

Hello Ben, i am glad to hear this. I first heard the accusation about a review being deleted from another youtube channel and i could have sworn i had seen a review on your channel at some point but couldnt find it. As for the paid reviews thing  i recall reading somewhere that it was said in defense of Shadowdark a paid review that people said all your reviews were paid. I dont exactly remeber where i heard that one.

So, ive been guilty of spreading those rumors and i apologize for it.
