This is a site for discussing roleplaying games. Have fun doing so, but there is one major rule: do not discuss political issues that aren't directly and uniquely related to the subject of the thread and about gaming. While this site is dedicated to free speech, the following will not be tolerated: devolving a thread into unrelated political discussion, sockpuppeting (using multiple and/or bogus accounts), disrupting topics without contributing to them, and posting images that could get someone fired in the workplace (an external link is OK, but clearly mark it as Not Safe For Work, or NSFW). If you receive a warning, please take it seriously and either move on to another topic or steer the discussion back to its original RPG-related theme.

I wish he would finish his megadungeon project instead of doing these 15min youtube algorithim shinigans.  It was lining up to be an interesting series.

Dungeoncraft is kinda OSR. I like Arbiter of Worlds a lot, I can't think of any other pure OSR channels that are good. Matt Colville is OSR influenced.

Dungeoncraft is kinda OSR.

Beat me to it. But I watch him cuz he's entertaining and is not exclusively OSR.

Also, since some non OSR channels came up above, I've been watching Dungeons and Discourse lately, just cuz I found her entertaining and discusses relevant topics and RPG news. RPG Elite is also really good, he discusses a lot of old school and newer sci-fi games, including Gamma World and Traveler, as well as occasional videos on social issues, kinda anti-woke, but not hardcore anti-SJW.

The only real problem is that Dungeons and Discourse sounds like everyone's ex-wife ever, all rolled into one.  She's more nasal than Pinocchio.

As much as I like some of their videos (Dungeoncraft and Dungeons and Discourse), I don't really trust either of them.  Both have shown deference to their friends in the past few months (D&D when there was a Youtube kerfluffle about some influencer and Dungeoncraft with his "reviews"), so I don't really trust their opinions.   But I do enjoy some of their content.

I actually don't disagree with this entirely, cuz they have shown their bias before. But what I do is that I take that bias into account without dismissing them entirely. Unfortunately, people siding with their friends is not an uncommon thing online, and I suspect many of us would do it as well (to some extend or another) if we became an online personality. I just wish people would disclose it more explicitly (specially with advertisings "reviews" and such).

Yes I nearly mentioned Discourse. She has a very OSR friendly GM style that emphasises player choice & sandboxing, but most of her audience seem hostile and want linear railroads.

We Norn Iron have the best accent! https://youtu.be/8zSWlAHD29M?t=26

Nah... too comprehensible.  A good Southern Scotsman or Geordie accent is amazing, and communicates absolutely nothing.  And Glaswegian is just... magnificent...

I don't watch many roleplaying videos on YT, really. The few exceptions are Dungeoncraft, The Alexandrian, and Seth Skorokowski, and 2 of the 3 aren't OSR.

I've enjoyed some stuff from:

-BECMI Berserker
-Greyhawk Grognard
-JoeTheLawyer
-DM It All
Playing: Mongoose Traveller 2e
Running: On Hiatus
Planning: Too many things, and I should probably commit to one.
